Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2007. A golden beer with a huge cream colored head. The aroma is sweet mlaty with light notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of citrusy hops and straw, leding to a good bitter finish.

2. Cask Stillage at the Town Hall, Stockport 30/05/2003
Tried again to see if there was any improvement but unfotunately there wasn’t - Golden hazy and acidic with a slightly dry hop finish.
3. Cask Handpump at the Crown Inn, Stockport 15/07/2006
Now called ’Elland Best’ and thankfully a much nicer drink than it was on my previous encounters.
Hoppy aroma. Clear golden coloured very hoppy and slightly citrus flavour. A little creaminess and bitterness in a malt finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2006
Cask (handpump) at The Market Porter, Southwark, London. Very light coloured for a bitter - pale straw. Quite fresh and a little sharp, but the overall effect lacked body and depth. Didn’t make much of an impression, although you could certainly sup a few of these.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rune (6375) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 11, 2008
Half pint, hand pulled cask at The Dagda Bar in Edinburgh. Golden body, slightly hazy. Missing head, fragile lacing. Floral hoppy aroma. Taste of fruity hops and honey sweetness, with a decent bitterness lingering on the swallow [26.10.2008].
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hughie (3994) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2008
Cask at Victoria Hotel, Beeston, Nottingham. Gold with a white head. Cardboard aroma, possibly malty. Despite its claim to be ’strong on aroma’, I judged this the weakest feature. The taste was inconsistent: slight sweetness to begin, not much to notice in media res, followed by a pleasant hoppiness in extremis.
