Cask; Seasonal - June. Previously regular. Regular. Also available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
Pale premium bitter, this beer has grapefruit and citrus top notes and a bitter yet fruity palate from the use of American Hops, including Centennial. Drinks easier than its strength...a little devil of a brew!

Cask in Bon Accord. Aroma is spicey and peppery richer malts and hops, however as it goes through the pint the aroma dies a bit and appley sweetness ruin a bit. Taste does exactly the same journey as the aroma, to much so, as it had alot of potential if it hadnt been vented for so long.

Wow!, this is something I would expect from a US Micro rather than an english one. Pours a hazy gold, again a E&S beer with a clarity issue. Big pillowy white head. Big piny fruity luscious sweet hop aromas with a wholesome malt biscuit note. Tart grapfruit , sweet malt give way to a strong definite bitterness. Right at the end malt biscuit reemerge. This brewer is a hophead. Probibly alittle to bitter for my taste but still a very impressive beer. Bigger in flavour than many american examples I have tried. Go Britania.

Tasted 30/06/2006. 500ml bottle from Rumble’s, Wellington. A bit of a commiseration tipple. Pale gold with a just off-white head and soft lacy ribbons. Nose is definitely dominated by the grapefruity hops but there lovely sweet pale or caramalt sweetness behind it. Little malt sweetness up front, quite dry, with strong citrus hop flavour through the middle and an extremely intense, bitter herbal finish. Just a touch too intense. Nice barley sweetness pops back through on the palate, with the citrus hop flavour. Gentle mouthfeel thanks to the low carbonation and medium weight. Excellent American Pale Ale, along the lines of NZ’s Epic and Hopsmacker.

Cask Handpump at The Wellington, Birmingham. Gold with a very short head. A light citrus scent. Very bitter and perfumed. Thick and silky on the palate. Good stuff.

Cask@The sussex Beer Festival, Hove. This was a nice one, hoppy aroamtic nose, i guess due to the use of American Centennial hops. Touches of grapefruit, with a very nice floral, medium bitter finish. Really enjoyable.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Out Of The Vaults Leicester. Now this is odd. Look at everyone’s appearance comments: Ranges from "Extremely pale straw" to amber or brown. WTF? Anyway mine was also brown or amber with a small white head. The aroma is very much an English bitter beer. The taste is very very bitter and it’s almost like there are litle morsels of something in there to chew on. Too bitter for me, and it’s not in a nice hoppy way just an over harsh bitter way.
