COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special - August 2010 (Head Brewer’s Reserve 2010 series).
A robust tawny-coloured Scotch ale with background roast malt flavours and underlying hop bitterness.

Cask (handpump) at the Market Porter, Southwark, on 17 August 2010. Tawny colour. Small off-white head. Some caramel and sharp fruit in the aroma. Distinct fruity malt on the palate. Also quite sharp. Low bitterness. The tart fruit lingers into the aftertaste. Not really my type of beer but quite tasty. Not entirely sure why this should be regarded as a Scotch Ale rather than a Strong Bitter (albeit a malty one).
