UPDATED: APR 15, 2011 Couple of pints, The Crown, Nuneaton. Deep mahogany, ruby edges draped with cream. Fierce and attenuated initially, with a softer cinder toffee and butter biscuit underbelly. Roasted pistachio and barley aroma; good Nutella on burnt toast afters. Had another pint of it- enough said.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2009. Pours a dark amber/brown color with a small off-whitehead. Has a roasted malty toasted nutty chocoalte aroma. Sweetish roasted malty caramel and chocoalte flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Deep black, brown highlights. Simple coffee aroma with a dollop of vanilla. Clean, simple roast, chalky finish. Simple and refreshing in a way that I sometime forget a dark beer can be. Really nice!

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2006 (Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London, 24 Nov) Dark brown colour with ruby notes, small beige head. Malty and roasted nose with notes of cola, chocolate and coffee. Roasted and malty taste with coffee, chocolate and a nice coffeelike bitterness in the finish. A lovely porter.

Pint pulled at The Market Porter in Borough (London), very dark with a thin white bubby head. A caramal and tart fruit aroma. Very strong roasted coffee flavour with a touch of licorice on a smooth and light palate. Like drinking an cold espresso.

Roast and hop aromas. Dark slightly rich on the palate with some alcohol present. Crisp and bitter malt finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Jubilee Refreshment Rooms, Sowerby Bridge 15/08/2009
Fruit and some roast aroma. Mid brown dark coloured a little hoppy and fruity with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a roast finish.
