Cask Stillage at the Blacksmiths Arms, Broughton Mills 10/11/2007 Hoppy aroma. Golden coloured and hoppy with some dryness in a crisp fruity and bitter malt finish.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense Wicksteed Park BF. An amber coloured beer with a loose whitish head. A fruity aroma with blackberry and apple notes. Interestingly fruity in the mouth too with an odd addition of spiciness. Not sure everything acts in harmony,

Gravity at The Wellington, Birmingham. Copper colour with a very short head. Scent has some melon and roses in it. Thin but bitter. Some hop but rather lacking in taste given how it was in the nose. Good mouthfeel.

A pale ale with an intense rose-petal aroma and flavour. The bitterness from the hops is a bit harsh and tongue-scouring but it’s still an interesting, unusual beer. I’d love to know what those rosey hops are! (Cask from Gardener’s, Sheffield)
