Gravity cask at the Merton BF 2012. Clear gold with a white head. Pleasant crisp beer with clean malt and subtle hop balance, somehow under powered for the hop variety used.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival, 17th & 18th February 2012 This looked superb in the glass, great clarity and with a lovely bubbly white head. Hoppiness evident on nose but for all of its promise whilst a very pleasant beer it came across as just a little too sweet, little too much malt and not enough hoppy punch. A6 A5 T7 P3 Ov13 3.4

Cask conditioned at Merton Beer Fest ’12. Greenish gold with white head. Dry, light malt body with a light lemony hop note. Clean and fresh, drying in the close, really quite decent.

Gravity, Solihull 09. Bit empty after the Pictish, with big hops but not as much in its locker to back them up. Misting gold with good lace. Herbal hop, orange, bay leaf, bite of apple aroma. Dry and almondy; alcohol detectable, good rasp of grapefruit, green apple, faint biscuit. Not bad.

Cask Conditioned, at the Market Porter, Borough, London.
Golden yellow, with a full bright white head. Lovely citrus hop aroma lifting generously from the glass. Good structure and bitterness on the palate, with clean streamline flavours running front to back. Generous and complex to warrant a 2nd and 3rd pint. Lovely drop of beer, certainly didn’t seem retired to me last night.
