3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 stantheman (377) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 8, 2013
Bottle from Liberty Wine Merchants on Commercial Drive in Vancouver. Black as ink with a goodly tan head. Sweet malts on the nose. Taste is dry and body is thin for an impy stout. Coffee and chocolate notes here, as expected. Enjoyable, but I would not compare this to either of my 2 benchmark impys, Old Rasputin or Brooklyn Black Chocolate. It does not measure up to either of those. I do like the built in stopper on the bottle. Very handy. I’ll try some again later...
