COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
The only self-proclaimed ‘Belgian stout’ – 9% by volume – named after famed Belgian detective Hercule Poirrot and considered a World Classic.
Made in small batches, then lagered for ten days in German oak casks.
"The Hercule is considered by many to be a classic – very malty, but dry, with a hint of sweetness in the finish, and perfectly hopped. It has a very distinctive and intoxicating spicy aroma of fresh spruce that suddenly, irresistibly, fills the room when the swing-top is released. This unique house character probably derives from the strains of yeast used by the brewery – and possibly from the fermentation in oak – because the beers are made entirely of malt and hops, without any spices or sugar."

Possibly on of the most overrated beers on RB. Very little body for the type, little complexity, quite watery.

0,33l bottle. Dark brown colour with big foamy quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma: caramel, coffee, toffee, fruits, raisin. Taste: Sweet matly start than the medium bitter coffee like caracter dominates. Light carbonation, full body. Rich bitter/sweet finish. Best stout I tasted so far.

Romige Belgische stout, niet wild, wel mooi in balans. Donker bier, wit schuim. Korte nasmaak, koffie gebrande mout. Weinig hopsmaken ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£5.20):
An excellent Belgian beer, plenty of flavour & a great balance too; it’s easy to drink for the strength. The beer was quite sweet with plenty dark fruits & some lighter acidity on the nose with the roasted flavours being more noticeable come the taste & the beer was quite creamy with a beautiful mouthfeel; another excellent imperial stout.

Brown/black color. Average carbonation. Surprisingly light aroma. Some coffee and yeast fruitiness in the nose. Quite sweet, but balanced by the roasted bitterness and slight hoppiness. Rasins, chocolate, some phenolic notes. The fruit flavors from the yeast gives it a bright flavor, not common for stouts. It does have a Belgian character. Nice creamy body, but drinks very light. Very good beer, though not something I’d drink often.

Droge chocolade bitterige afdronk.

Black colored, medium frothy tan head, nice lacing and good lasting. Aroma is some chocolate, vinous, roast and coffee, some yeast. Taste is medium- sweet chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruits, roasted malt and coffee, some yeast, dry roasted to burnt finish and some roasty acidity. Medium+ bodied, average carbonation.
