bottle, pours a faintly hazy amber-brown with a foamy head, spicy and lightly green vegetal aromas, body brings caramel and toasted orange, more spice notes, an earthy and peppery bitterness, faint hints of pineapple and grapefruit. Pleasantly chewy.

The witches’ brew from Ellezelloise, whose beers have been taken over by Legendes meanwhile. A saison-like, lovely old-fashioned ale with thick, rocky, moussy, utterly stable head and murky bronze colour. Fruity and yeasty aroma with impressions of orange, banana, strawberry, cloves, cinnamon, peppery hops, calvados, dried leaves and honey. Fruity and caramelly taste, smooth, sweet, finish with agreeable hop bitterness as well as sherry-like, warming alcohol. Very autumn-like beer - now that I come to think of it, it’s about time to revisit.

Sweet malty aroma. Dark amber with rich light yellow head. Complicated taste, lot of different bitternesses, with one lasting bitter note. Some roasted caramel notes.

Frothy, off-wjite average head that’s slowly diminishing. Body is hazuy amber. Aroma contains malts (cookie, hay, molasses), hops (citrusfruits, spruce), yeasts (dough) and grape, raisin, (sweet) apple and pear, pineapple, cola and forest fruits. Flavor starts off light acidic, then light bitter and light acidic, followed by light acidic and sweet and finishing in bitter. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. More bitter and less sweet then expected. Misses complexity but is enjoyable anyway.

Draught at Delirium Café (mercilessly undercooled), 08/2014. The gentle dried caramels and subtle spice of maple syrup and old honey meet in this well-balanced, but overly amped amber strong ale. Will try and revisit its suspected subtleties in greater detail bottled at a more appropriate temperature - this good brewery deserves a better tap pour...

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A brown earthy orange beer with a big off-white head. Medium retention. Good lacing. Spicy aroma, caramel, herbs, roast, light biscuit and fruit. Medium spicy dry bitter, light sweet. Refreshing ! Medium body and texture. Good carbonation. Bitter finish with a sweet note. Overall, a great belgian spicy bitter ale. Nice balance.
