Bottle sampled. Pours hazy orange/brown with a good size off-white head. Aroma of fruit, spices, caramel, yeast, and citrus. The flavor is ssweet, fruit, spices, caramel, and finishes with a citrusy dryness. Good brew.

Pours a hazy copper amber with an airy, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt and lots of floral, lemongrassy, earthy fresh hops with a touch of doughy yeast. Body starts fairly full with nice carbonation and light caramel and toffee sweetness well-balanced with crisp, bittering and flavor hops toward a smooth bittersweet finish. A very nice Belgian strong ale that seems more like a saison.

Cloudy copper with a pillowy off-white head. Nice malty aroma with caramel and yeasty. Flavor is a touch sweet--with rye bread, caramel, notes of lemon and cider--then whacked into balance with a nice dryness and hops. Mild bitterness covers the alcohol well, and the finish is malty-bitter. Refreshing, flavorful, balanced... An amber that comes off like a super saison. I loved this beer.

Lubiere (12689) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 8, 2007
A hazy darkened gold ale with a thick creamy off white head, with small dark chunks. Plenty of oranges and dark fruits in aroma, with almost coconut or suntan cream, and light chocolate. In mouth, a trully pleasant sweet candy sugar with dark dried fruits, lots of german hops, and a strong alcohol in attack. Rich and robust. Bieropholie imports. BB March 2007.

Bottle at home, from cracked kettle. Dark orange colour with fast-receding top head. Fruity and alcohol scent. Tastes of orange, apple and mangos. Sugary with a bitter finish. Suffers some from overpowering alcohol taste. Still quite good but not near Hercule.

Pours a nice orangish golden brown. Nice tropical fruit and sweet malt on the nose. Great full mouthfeel with a good dose of sweet malty goodness with a touch of heat and ripe fruit.

Christian (12622) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 17, 2007
Poured a very unclear orange, with a big but disappearing off-white head. Fruity aroma with fresh plums, peach, mango, coconut and some alcohol. Very unique flavour that seems to try and find the middle ground between dubbel and tripel - dry, with a mix of dark dried fruits and fresh ripe fruits, a peppery finish leaving no aftertaste. Alcohol is very much in the foreground and along with the strongly sensed dryness suggests a recipe with a little too much sugar. Even honey perhaps?
