3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 9, 2004 Bottled.
Amber is the name, so is the colour. Small particles float all over(under that is). Fruity aroma, IPA-like with a woody yeast presence. Thick body(candid sugar?), fruity flavour, richly grassy. Unfortunately also sulphury yeast.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber with a lot of small yeast particles.
Aroma lime an IPA; really fruity and a bit yeasty.
Full-bodied with IPA-like maltiness and grassiness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet, caramel, yeast alcohol nose. Copper orange hue. Small beige head, mostly lasting, slightly sticky, minimal lacing though. Candi sugar, peaches, apple, fruit, dates, velvety body, pleasant yeastiness, dry lingering finish. Very nice brew, and as Austin says, not unlike a barleywine.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2004 Kind of hot, thick and yeasty, big sweet malt and surprising hop bite - something is cutting throught the huge alcohol-caramel onslaught and it's a healthy hop presence of some kind. Rotting leaf on the floor of the forest type of consistency.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
As malty as this beer is, it has a surprisingly alcoholic finish which detracts slightly from the overall experience. A little less heat on the finish and this might be one of my favorites. Still a very enjoyable beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tired sparks of minty caramel surface the sorcerer's earthy orange broth...Spicy chocolate for a sweet unctuous palate and dark bread powder for that impetuous Belgian uniqueness...Minute shards of metal for strength and yeasty apples for vivacity...A seemingly confused but nonetheless well-organized remedy for beerological boredom...Also a competent replacement to my long-lost friend, Seigneuriale Réserve...

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Best before februari 2003. Clear amber coloured, initially large head, thick lacing. Strong fruity aroma, predominantly apple, a bit more yeasty when warming up. Sweet and yeasty flavour. Pouring out the entire bottle results in numerous floating yeast particles, but doesn't influence aroma nor flavour. Dry finish. OK beer, but Ellezeloise can do better.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
dark ruby red beer with a strong taste of alcohol.
very alcoholic in the smell and the taste.
Flavor has the taste of alcohol and water.
there was no head at all on this beer.
kinda dissapointed with this beer.paid a good buck for a watered down alcoholic smelling beer from the hills.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rich amber brew with wonderful frothy off-white head. Lovely appearance. Flavor is extremely well balanced, and for a beer of this ABV, the alcohol is masked nicely. Sweet and malty to start. Slightly warming and smooth going down. The finish is bitter. This beer has everything! A Good find!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very fruity aroma, sweet and malty. Brown coloured with a big creamy and lasting head. Taste is malty bit spicy and fruity-sweet. Quite bitter in the end. Good taste-sensation.
