   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 14/20
tfredvik (1501) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 12, 2015
Pours a cloudy medium amber body with an eggnog-coloured head that isn’t that large, but it’s very long-lived and leaves a decent amount of lacing on the glass. Strong aroma of pleasant Belgian yeast, lots of spices, generic fruits and banana. Fainter elements of caramel in the back, and even vague hints of barnyard. Strong flavour of spices, lots of spices, and plenty of Belgian yeasty notes. Also alcohol in the back, and black pepper in the dry finish. Light to moderate sweet taste and the long-lasting finish is unusually bitter for a Belgian. Mid-bodied with a quite lively carbonation. A dry, tasty, yeasty and spicy brew with an extra touch of bitterness.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 20 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Online]

Robe ambrée, assez limpide. La mousse ne tient pas. Arômes de malt dominant, biscuit et caramel. Bon équilibre sucré/amer. Longue en bouche.

Beautiful, reddish beer with a big and blond head. Aroma has generic fruitness, some caramel and herbal spicyness, hint of aromatic perfume. Taste is fruitful, balanced spicyness, hint of caramel malts. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Easy and good.

33 cl bottle from Drink d’Annevoie, BE. Hazy orange with a white dense head. Aroma: moderate malty, yeasty and roasty with a light strawberry-like fruitiness. Flavor: moderate sweet with a long bitter finish.

Swing-top bottle. Slightly hazy amber body, very tall head. Aroma has sharp yeast, fruity hops and strawberries. Even a hint of vinegar, a bit too tangy. Sweet fruity taste with medium hoppiness. More strawberry-like fruitiness. Nearly fruit beer territory. Might get cloying at some point. High carbonation. This one certainly has a character but it’s too sweet/fruity for me.

McWorta (1136) - LUXEMBOURG - JAN 25, 2015
Opalescent copper-orange colour with a pillowy white medium head. Noses of hay, barnyard, caramelised sugar and herbal notes. Lightly carbonated with a somewhat slick texture the beer presents a full body with flavours of caraemlised herbs and malts with a noticeable yeast character. The finish is a bit chewy and long lasting.

Average amber ale. Appearance a murky copper amber, head half a finger with big carbonation. Aroma is very citrus, with some sweetness maybe caramel. Taste is similar with a grapefruit bitter aftertaste. Palate is a bit spicy, medium creaminess. Overall its ok, but nothing special stands out.
