4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Super Saver. Pours turbid North Carolina brown mud colored. The aroma is vinous, red grapey, with more fruit, some caramel malt, brown sugar, and floral hints. Tastes semi-dry, with some caramelly malt hints, plus cabernet, brown sugar, fruit, yeast, and honey, plus a dash of spice. It gets drier as it warms. As with the Quintine Blond, this one has a lot of sediment at the bottom of the bottle, with a corresponding increase in the aroma and flavor layers and complexity. Both the Quintine Blond and Ambree have impressed me. I’ll be on the lookout for the Stout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle BB Apr 2014. Clear dark red, slightly sparkling, small white foamy head endures. Smell - sweet cherry malts. Body - medium, foamy, carbonation is low. Taste - coffee, cherry, liquorice, spice. All of the flavours are quite light. There’s a flavour running through it that reminds me of tea.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle. Nice cloudy caramel. Taste and aroma were mild and balanced, some caramel, spice and yeast. Full body, alcohol is masked very well and it was easy to drink. Overall, not sure what to make of it. Strong Belgian ales usually have very strong flavours, and while this wasn’t thin, it was definitely more subtle.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shared a 33cl bottle from Cora (Luxembourg). Pours a orange amber colour with a nice white head. Aroma is wheat, spicy and fruity. Medium carbonation and medium body. The flavour is a well balanced trip between bitter and sweet with a hoppy and dry finish. Overall, a very nice beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Amber colour with an average slightly orange head that leaves a good blanket of lace. The nose seems fairly wheaty to me. Light/medium body, medium carbonation A little subdued all around on the nose. Bitter hoppy finish. Y

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2013 33 cl. swing-top bottle @ home. Procured from Carrefour. BBF 07/2015. This bottle costs more than a bottle of Rochefort 10 at the supermarket where I picked it up, feels wrong somehow. Maybe swing-top bottles are more expensive? Very hazy, slightly murky orange peel amber, small creamy white head, more lacing than head. Nose is nicely hoppy, floral, zesty, raw hay, slight caramel, orange peel, spicy floral yeast, rustic, farm qualities with some grapefruit, very nice. Taste is bitter floral, rustic, barnyard, thick BE yeast, orange peel, bitter spices, touch caramel, slight candy sugar, zest, lemon peel, grapefruit lingering bitter grass finish,.. Creamy caramel malts, very dry & nice carb. Feels quite saison-like to me. Mmm excellent brew, great stuff here. ////// Shared some of the bottle & the feedback was equally positive so it wasn’t only me.
