330ml swing top bottle. Nice ppppffffsssst upon opening, great pour, excellent murky golden, shy of amber, colored pour. The head was bright white, great retention, solid rings of lacing, great sedimentation chunkies on the bottom, like tea leaves, I love that. The aroma was doughy/bready (yeasty maybe), spicey, coriander-pepper combination. The flavor was bready malts, some sweetness, orange-citrus notes, some minty zing, lots of peppery flavors, coriander underneath, somewhat of a saison-witbier combo, something that was really working for me while drinking. Finish is crisp, dry, peppery, refreshing. Mouthfull was hearty, full for the style (witbier listed), much more like a saison mouthfeel. YUM!

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2009 Bottle. Ap: Hazy orange coloured, creamy but short lasting head. Little lace. Ar: Belgian yeast, sweet wheat, gingerbread biscuits in perfect balance. Fla: Fruit and spice and all things nice. Ginger. Perfect tartness of berries in aftertaste. Lot’s of laid back magic unnamable flavors... Diluted in a good way (makes it more refreshing). Ov: Pure and simple elegance! Good beer dosen’t have to hurt.

This is an excellent, extra bitter, wit. Its hoppiness is of Duvel levels which is unusual. Citrus rind flavours are also noticable. Highly recommended.

A witbier... more of a saison in character. It is bitter, hoppy and full of spices. This is an excellent beer, though a strange witbier at best. Has a tart light acidic character to work with the bitterness.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2004 Pours a cloudy, dark-golden colour with a white foamy head. Moderately carbonated with large, lively bubbles. Yeasty aroma of fresh dough with a light hint of fruit, citrus, hops and spice. Flavor is sweet and fruity with yeast, hops and coriander tones. Light, crisp and refreshing. Wonderful wit.

My initial encounter with this brew, and it begins tumultuously, for I snapped back the swing-top seal, and was greeted with a rush of foam, and a new mess to clean up. Also, a hint at the spicy treat to come, but, now that the rag has done it’s business, it’s time to pour this into it’s destined vessel and enjoy!
appearance: Pure, honey-toned golden, hazy, with a prodigious head, aided some by the Duvel glass employed, (giving it that "Duvel mousse"?) fluffy as a cloud, creamy, meringue-like, leaving delicate lace.
Aroma: citrus, coriander, sugar, yeast, a perfect witbier nose. Soft, though spicy, arousing, uplifting,...ah!
Taste: Great big blast of hops right off the bat, flooding the palate, tingling the tastebuds. Body is light, finish about medium, ends dryly, though the spice still lingers. Nicely textured, too. A lovely experience, for the foam has to be traversed first, it’s still so large in the glass, before getting to the drink, then this tasty citrus, the thrilling spice, all dancing and delighting the tongue and surrounding the senses.
One of the more sensuous and rewarding wits I’ve tried, whose pleasure go beyond simple taste and mere refreshment. Very nice, indeed.
