ABUSEDGOAT (1863), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 Muddy amber orange, moderate head with some lacing and retention. Aroma is yeasty, somewhat fruity, light grass. Medium bodied, fairly sweet, dull mouthfeel. Didn’t like it.
oberabcbbsok (642), Hoboken, Belgium Jul 10, 2008 Tasted on bottle. A nice and good tasting beer with a good ballance of sweetness Old_Mr_Crow (976), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 3, 2008 Bottle.
Pours a golden amber, cloudy, modest head. Lovely honey aroma, lots of citrus, some peach, a bit of barnyard dust (but mellow) to keep things interesting. Lovely flavor, sweeter than you’d expect from a saison but with a light sourness, strong flavor of honey (the pollen flavorfulness, not the sweetness so much), a bit of lemon, again peach. Very nice beer, a delight to drink and gone from my glass far too soon. If only they’d sell this one in Washington State/ Glouglouburp (1872), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 9, 2008 In short: A wild/barnyard nourishing highly drinkable Saison
How: Bottle, 330ml swing-top, consumed 2 months after purchase
The look: Partly cloudy golden body with a medium white head with low retention
In long: Nose is slightly barnyard with some orange. Taste is barnyard too, not funky but still a bit countryside wild. The nourishing body is very juicy, has some bread and lots of citrus fruits. Light sweetness has an honey flavour (no caramel, candy sugar or others). Nice hops bite with citrus fruits and some mint. Even a nice little tartness join in the fun. This Saison 200 really is a good beer, I’ve been ready since the late 90s for a S2K Mug. scania (184), Malmö, Sweden May 21, 2008 Hazy orange with big white head. Aroma is yeasty and spicy with orange peels. Medium on palate. Somewhat sweet and fruit flavor with a hoppy bitter-dry finish. Delicious imdownthepub (3937), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England May 18, 2008 Bottle coditioned, 330ml swing top. Dark amber with no head. For once I was disappointed with a lack of carbonation, but this really was flat. Sourish grainy beer, rather heavy for a Saison, some spicy notes and a peachy taste in the body. Interesting without getting there for me.
