I had a 4oz sample of this beer at the 2012 Frederick Beer Festival. The beer had a full copper-amber color with an average foamy white head with modest cling and lacing. The aroma featured some spices and a touch of citrus and malt. The taste was slightly fruity and a bit sweet with a touch of grain. The beer was wet and watery with low carbonation and a light mouthfeel.

This was a pretty good beer, pairs well with a lot of their foods and is a good session beer.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty grainy caramel aroma. Fruity malty grainy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty grainy finish.

Color is OK amber and head are quickly gone. Flavor and aroma are bland. Drinkable but not really that good overall. I hope for better styles at Ellicott Mills.

Draft at the Ellicott Mills Brewing Company, Ellicott City, MD. Arrived at the table a hazy rust/copper color with a smallish beige head. A fairly pleasant aroma of caramel, cereal grains, and a touch of butter. Went down thin to medium-bodied and soft. No surprises taste-wise. Semi-sweet cereal graininess upfront with a touch of caramel. Mildly crisp finish with a hint of butter and lemon. Kinda roasty and earthy throughout. Drinkable.

One of the most disappointing beers I’ve had in the last decade. There was no bouquet and little head to this horribly under-carbonated draft. No hop or malt taste to the liquor, just a faint taste of yeast and a watery mouthfeel. My wife’s Dunkel was little better. Never again. Thanks to the bartender who didn’t charge me for the beer. This establishment either needs a competent brewmaster or a commitment to brewing real beer.

I thought this was a good beer. No particular flavors really jumped out and while it was sweet, it wasnt too sweet, not syrupy at all or anything, but definitely skewed sweet. It was a little watery though and everything just seemed a little muted.

Orangish with nice white head. Nothing really stood out in this one either. Fairly weak Marzen from my opinion.

hazy copperish amber with a drippy lace head. it smells a bit tart, like honey and mostly of sweet buttery diacetyl...ick. the flavor is the same... oddly tart, diacetyl and weird. medium body with an acidic sharp mouth feel and oiliness.

Draft at the brewpub. Sweet, thick and malty Marzen. Mellow/low carbonation. Brown-amber color. Not aggressively flavored but enjoyable enough. Roasty, chocolate malt comes through as well. OK.
