pours an almost black shade of brown though still transparent. it has a beige head and some spotty lace. aromas of nutty coffee, roast and mild sweetness. the flavor is simple and the same... coffee, roast, cream, fruitiness akin to strawberries? and a slight bitterness on the finish. an aftertaste of roasted nuts lingers. the body is medium though the mouth feel is a bit thin and watery. 6/3/6/3/13/3.1

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2003 Very, very dark ale with a lovely, burnt orange hue. Very creamy, khaki-colored head with very thick lacing. The aroma is mild with some chocolate and coffee notes. Very well-balanced flavor. Coffee, alcohol and spicy notes. Medium-bodied with a very dry mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, dry finish.

Creamy beige head atop black body. Aroma is mild sweet, roasty, coffee, hint of cherry. Taste is sweet, roasty, light coffee. Medium creamy body.
