Nice porter like qualities- chocolate, coffee flavors- not much in the way of roast, but tasty regardless. cbkschubert (2030), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Aroma is roasted malt. Flavor is roasted malt and chocolate. Medium body. The beer was smooth and not too dry. My favorite of the beers I tried at the brewpub. strangaj (229), West Chester, Ohio, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2007 Tap at McGregor’s. Pours dark brown with tan creamy head (classic Guinness appearance). Aroma was negligible. Notable chocolate notes. Roasted malt flavors are more apparent this year. If directly compared to Guinness, I will take this as a session stout any day. zach8270 (2150), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Updated: Dec 13, 2008[nitro draft at MacGregor’s - Henrietta, NY] Very nice looking... creamy tan head on top of a black pour. The aroma was a little stale, kind of like burnt hops mixed with some ash. The taste wasn’t all that great. Very ashy and thin, even for a nitro. Some roasted malts and chocolate in it, but not enough for me. I think I might be done with the nitro stouts.
