Our newest addition to our family of craft beers. A light golden ale, crisp on the palate with a refreshing blueberry aroma and flavor. Surprisingly different that most people expect. A sure winner!

Bottle. Pours a pale golden yellow with a short white head. Aroma of blueberries and a hint of wheat. Flavor of pale malts, blueberries and light wheat with low carbonation and a crisp finish.

Pours a hazy gold with a small white head. very fruity aroma, obviously. Immediate taste of blueberry, slightly "grassy" in the middle and on the finish. Decent. I think EBC has better beers though. I did an official review on this last night at a restaurant where this is my only choice over BMC andjunct lagers.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a very thin white head, less than half a centimetre tall. Aroma of blueberries, assertive malt, sweetness and way way more blueberries! Light-bodied; Sharp pungent and slightly fake blueberry flavour with a slightly bitter malt finish and a little sweetness trying to come through. Aftertaste shows a hair of earthiness, some light malt bitterness and still a lot of blueberry flavours. Overall, a drinkable beer - but barely - the blueberries hit hard and strong and the malt doesn’t help out much either. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$2.55 sampled at home in Washington on 16-December-2011.

Bottle from Paula via Half Time. Decent "true" blueberry aroma. Pours gold with a transient white head. Med body. Flavor is blueberry with some underlying wheat/malt. If you like blueberry, this might be for you. Finishes rather astringent and dry.

This poured a cloudy straw yellow with a slight blue tint and a white head. Aroma was wheat and yeast, medium freshly slightly sour bluberries, and light spices too. flavor was very nice balance of wheat and pale malt with the blueberries. Blueberries come off fresh and real, not artificial in any way. Nice.

Ellicottville Blueberry Wheat Beer is a crystal clear, pale straw colored beer with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin white blotch. It has an aroma of blueberry bubblegum. Lemon and wheat tones lie underneath. It smells a little artificial, but it’s ok. It’s light bodied and metallic with a slightly gritty finish. There’s not that much blueberry flavor, really. It almost seems a touch salty. There’s a noticeable amount of green bitterness to it, especially at the finish. The bitterness hangs for a while after the swallow. It’s quite light and doesn’t have a lot of personality, but it could make for a pretty good lawn mower beer.

Bottle. Inviting aroma of fresh blueberries. Pours a pale golden with thin white head. Flavor is sweet up front and finishes a little bitter. You can taste the blueberries but it isn’t overbearing. Taste is a little watery to me. Light body and lively carbonation, not a fan of the aftertaste. Overall just not my taste.

On tap at Ellicottville brewpub. Poured a slight golden yellow with not that much head. Aroma was a little sweet and of blueberry. Taste was much the same, but I wonder if it was because they put blueberries in the glass, as opposed to the actual beer itself. Nothing to really go crazy about, decent.

bottle poured a light golden in color with a thin covering of white head. aroma has sweet blueberry, wheat, and I get the odd pepper thing others have noted. mouth feel is on the thin side and the carbonation a bit low. flavor has a fairly authentic berry, wheat, rye, and again a distinct peppery ginger thing. quite odd for a fruit beer.

The color is a rather flat straw color, but with a nice haze. It’s not clear or see-through. It looks a lot like a wheat beer. The head goes away almost immediately. The aroma is a sweet wheaty smell with a nice blueberry accent. Smells very dry. Smells of pepper. Double sweetness of wheat and blueberry. Definitely sweet. Not much bitter or dry. Sweet is nice, but one-dimensional. A bit tart and sour. Feels wet and a bit watery, although that could just be interpreted as being refreshing. It’s almost too sweet to have too many in a row, but it’s nice. Too much might just get a little too cloying.
