shoeshineboy (81), Youngstown, Ohio, USA Nov 15, 2007 on tap at ebc.... big alcohol that shines through on the nose and the palate a little tart and not from the hops almost like an apple0. a ton of bourbon that lingers forever... pretty good beer (8 beans for 12 oz is a bit to swallow!) mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2007 Growler. Slightly cloudy copper-orange body with a small white ring of head. The aroma has bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, bread, though not much in the hops area. Tons of bourbon and alcohol flavour - not harsh but also not something I necessarily seek out in an IIPA. Finishes with cereal and alcohol. Appearance : Hazy amber, fine creamy top.
Aroma:Subdued aroma . Alcohol with ripe fruit blend as well oak barrel vanilla notes. Flavour/Palate:
Soft malts, ripe cherry fruit, apple like tartness with creamy vanilla accent. Alcohol is noted yet well welcomed. Decent ale.
swoopjones (1115), Buffalo, New York, USA Jul 16, 2007 Growler @ Coles IPA Fest Buffalo NY. Thanks dan & Bo. Big bourbon aroma. Brownish in color, oaky, woody, bourbony. Usually like my beer & whiskey/bourbon seperate. Nice but not really for me jerc (3114), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 15, 2007 Growler at Coles IPA Festival. Hazy brown body with a small white head. Woody citrus in the aroma - lemon, grapefruit. (7+) Strong oaky wood flavours dominate over the citrus. Light caramel, muted touch of vanilla. More lemon and grapefruit. (7+) Medium palate. (3+) I quite like this one, but it varies from delightful to overbearing.
