Had reservations on this based on how EBC throws the word íbombí around (their Hop Bomb lacked any sort of hop aroma/flavor). This, however, is perfectly balanced, has a milk chocolaty creamy body, and just enough cherry aroma/flavor. The higher alcohol is not at all noticeab on the palate, but you do feel it after a couple. I wouldnít change a thing about this outstanding beer!

Black pour with a thin and quickly receding tan head .... Looks flat .... Aroma of chocolate, cherry and roasted malts ... Like cherries in syrup ..... Taste is of sweet cherry syrup/cherry, earthy, chocolate and roasted malts .... Body is thin and watery... very porter like and flat ..... Abv is hidden well has a light lingering bitter bite and tart cherry

12 oz bottle. Pours black with tall, long lasting, creamy, brown head and nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, toast, chocolate covered cherries and marshmallows. Body is full, creamy and smooth. Taste is of nutty, roasted malt, chocolate, cherries, cacao and some herbal hops. Finish is long and semi-sweet. Dangerously easy drinking, good, dessert beer.

excellent aroma smells just like a chocolate cupcake..deep dark brown with dark tan head that disappears early..tastes like a chocolate cupcake with enough hops to keep things tingly and enough cherry to be indicated..tingly palate small bubble carbonation medium bodied with a slight alcohol feel..overall great stout with strong and distinctive flavors

Sweet chocolate and cherry aroma. Dark brown/black or with a dark team had that fades super quickly. Medium flat body. Taste is solid with sweet chocolate and just enough cherry to know itís there without dominating. Solid overall.

12oz bottle from Xroads. Poured a super dark Tootsie Roll brown with a small foamy dark beige head. Aroma is brownie batter, chocolate icing, light cherry fruitiness, muffin mix, cake. Flavor has some dark cherry juice on the front that quickly is taken over by brownie batter, burnt chocolate cake, vanilla extract. Medium body, strong bubbly carbonation, average duration on the aftertaste which is bitter and slightly sweet. Meh....

APPEARANCE- very black, lighter head than i expected. Head has good retention and moderate lacing. NOSE- slightly sweet, definite cherry, but Iím not convinced how natural the cherry scents are. FLAVOR- roasty right up front, a little bitterness which i think come from the cherries, more so than the chocolate. Little bit of sweetness that lingers at the very end.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2015 Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured thick and black with a small creamy brown head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet, malty and toasty with notes of cocoa and cherry. The flavor was chocolate, malty and toasty with faint cherry and malted milk. Long cocoa finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Alcohol well contained. Well done.

This was poured into a mini snifter. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin off white film of sporadic tan head. Lacing is mainly non-existent. The smell starts off with a dark chocolate and light cherry, semi-sweet. As it warms, a light milk chocolate enters. Light roasted coffee beans and vanilla notes blend together. All throughout, the cherry is super subtle. The taste is sweet and bitter at different times adding a subtle roasty coffee smoothness. A sticky sweet chocolate aftertaste leads into a sticky sweet chocolate finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping quality about it. Carbonated nicely as a D/I Stout, smooth roasty notes stroll over my tongue. Overall, as a double/Imperial Stout it works however donít expect a lot of cherry.
