Commercial Description:
This recipe scored a bronze medal at the 2003 GABF in the American Strong Pale Ale category. It screams out "HOPS" from the first whiff to the last lingering drop. Pair that with 7.5% alc./weight and you'll be sure to understand just what the judges saw in this beer.

draft @ west seattle brewpub - finally a beer from elliot bay that i could get into; strong aromas of malts and big hop kick; flavors of malts, caramel, pine hops and fruit; drinks equally strong with lingering bitterness

Dark copper and pellucid. White, frothy head that is almost creamy. Nose of citrus and pine. There’s almost a hint of cedar there. I have no idea why. Fruity with notes of oranges and a little of the pine comes through with the flavor. Sweet caramel malts and a touch of toasted malts. Finshes smooth and easy. I could drink this a lot.

Draft - Brewery - Burien, WA
Aroma – Deep rich malts and a good use of hops
Appearance – Deep copper color, clear and a light head
Flavor – The richness and the deep alcohol was found and the hops brought out some great flavors. This was a great beer.
Palate – The mouth liked this beer also. A great richness, sweet and a slight spicyness to the whole beer. Great stuff.
Overall –I liked this beer it will age well. Need to be sure to let this one age and warm up before drinking.
