Dark copper and pellucid. White, frothy head that is almost creamy. Nose of citrus and pine. There’s almost a hint of cedar there. I have no idea why. Fruity with notes of oranges and a little of the pine comes through with the flavor. Sweet caramel malts and a touch of toasted malts. Finshes smooth and easy. I could drink this a lot.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed amber with a thin white head. Big citrus on the nose, soft sticky oxidized fruity malt on the nose. Medium bodied, earthy citrus, a bunch of malt, getting a bit of fruit. Slow malt into the finish, malt, sticky and big. Comes across flabby and very malt.

Draft pour pint at the West Seattle location. Listed as an organic IPA. First visit to this location, the site of this beer’s origin. Pours a dark copper color with a thick foam head. Soft grain aroma. Flavor is a little nutty, caramel malt, and a heavy bitter hop bill. Malt heavy linger. They call it an IPA, but the malt presence is dominating here. Not a slammer here, less my liking for an IPA. Or strong ale. Whatever is. Was alright.

On June 23, 2015. At Elliott Bay Brewery and Pub in Seattle, Washington.
As "Demolition Imperial IPA".
Clear amber color, yellow head. Hoppy, fruity taste. Bitter aftertaste, also some alcohol. Medium mouthfeel, medium high to high bitterness. Hoppy, fruity scent.

Billed as the hoppier DIPA on at the time, this is actually pretty similar, maybe with more citrusy character but still old school crystal malt forward.

Draft - Sweet caramel east coast style.  Hazy copper with a decent head. Lots of caramel and bitterness.  Resinous finish. Odd for something not an IPA.

Deep golden/orange color with a foam that clings well to the glass. Earthy hops along with tangerine and grapefruits. Moderate bitterness but pleasant to drink. Toffee malts try to keep up. Finish drags on with hop flavor and light alcohol.

On draught at 10th Annual North American Organic Brewers Festival. Amber color. Aroma is grapefruit and bitter caramel. Taste is bitter grapefruit, tart citrus, and caramel malt. Good, but a little too bitter.

Sampler at source. This should be listed as a DIPA, not ASA. Dark orange amber color that completely covers the side of the glass as you drink it down. Aroma is a fresh bouquet of hops - some citrus, some fruit nicely blended, no/low pine. Medium bitterness on the nose. Alcohol appropriately pleasant with a present neutral malt background. Flavor is hop profile with a medium hip bitterness that overtakes the flavor and leads into the aftertaste. As the beer warms up there is a mild diacetyl character. I could see less sensitive people not picking it up. Also, I don’t mind the character as much but I could see those that dislike it really penalizing the beer for it. I actually think in this case it provides a nice characteristic to balance the hops.
