GriffinAvenue (350), South Boston, Massachusetts, USA Jan 5, 2008 Draft. Fudge black color. No head, but subtle tan rim around the edges. Raisins, chocolatey, with hint of apple. Thin, syrupy-like flavoring with soda consistency and body. Not much beyond initial punch to recommend it - though high alcohol content does make an appearance in the deep recesses of the throat. Ok, but really a disappointment given how much richness an imperial stout style affords the brewer. Seemed flat and unimaginative. CaptainCougar (4596), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 14, 2007 On tap at the 2007 GABF: Barely transparent dark mahogany pour has a tan ring of head. Aroma of lightly sweet dark caramel malt with a hint of pear and dark chocolate. Body is fairly thick with a sticky caramel malty sweetness and some tart light fruity notes toward a doughy finish. Needs a little more balance. kp (6000), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Nov 25, 2007 Date: 10/13/2007

goldtwins (3668), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 30, 2007 GABF 2007: Poured a deep brown with a tan head. The beer had an alcohol nose. Also notes of old coffee and some roasted malt. The flavor was also of old coffee and a touch of tartness. The finish leaves coffee in the mouth. Very dry. Medium to full bodied with a silk mouthfeel. glkaiser (864), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 4, 2007 Black with good head. Chocolate aroma with decent roasted grains. Too sweet for my liking...doesn’t taste, or feel, like 9%.
