3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mcberko (4052) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 15, 2012
On tap at Elliott Bay Brewpub, pours a hazy pumpkin orange with a small white head. Aroma gives off pumpkin puree and the usual associated spices: nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavour of pumpkin puree and t a lesser extent, cinnamon and nutmeg. Not the most full-bodied of pumpkin ales, but nicely flavoured. Solid stuff, for what these gimmicky pumpkin ales can be.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 8, 2010
Clear copper pour with a short, dense white head. Sweet caramel, bread, and cooked pumpkin aroma. A little spice on both the aroma and flavor, but it’s not as pie spice laden as a lot of pumpkin beers. Moderately strong body on it. Doesn’t seem to have the diacetyl issue a lot of Elliott Bay beers have had, has a strong caramel and cooked pumpkin flavor with a moderately bitter finish on it and a little alcohol warmth. Nice and strongly pumpkiny. I liked this more than I was expecting to.

Clear amber color/ fleeting head. Mild canned pumpkin pie mix aromas. Light to medium bodied. Mildly astringent nutmeg, allspice flavors with mild, earthy pumpkin flesh, caramel. Served too cold @ Elliott Bay BP.

Pours an orange red with minimal head. Aromas of sugar, slight hint of cinnamon, nutmeg. Full palate. Tastes toasted, of squash of course, and the cloves linger. It’s a different pumpkin.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 bvc (1102) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - NOV 2, 2009
Draft Brouwer’s. Orange amber with creamy off white head. Spicy pumpkin soap nose with yeast wrapping. Thin semi flat and creamy. Spicy, wheat, yeast, kind of soapy...just really kind of plain Jane and nothing I would need to revisit.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - OCT 6, 2009
Comfort beer? Warm aroma is lots of flesh and some nutmeg. Orange brown, small head. Pumpkin forward, light on the spices. Bitter flesh provides balance.

Draft @ Elysian Tangletown. Pours a deep, bright ruby-amber color; off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Dense amounts of cola, red fruits, and soft pumpkin pie spicing in the aroma; nice and warming. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: dense, chewy dried red fruits, cola, and sweet maltiness; definitely on the sweet, slightly syrupy side, but generous and tasty overall; just a bit sweet. Lengthy finish: dried red fruits, sugar, light spicing; still a sweet ending.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 after4ever (5280) - Brier, Washington, USA - OCT 20, 2008
Draft at Elysian Great Pumpkin Beer Fest (GPBF) 08. Alas, our esteemed colleagues from the west side will take the wooden spoon for GPBF08. Not sure what happened here. Hazy dark amber with light tan head. Nice spicy tart nose. Creamy medium body. Just so twangy hot for 7.7%. Sharp diacetyl tang under the pie spice. Too bad.
