Black pour. Thin and uninspiring stout with lots of roasted malt. I had the beer ice cream (see previous entry ) in a pint of the stout as a beer float which was amazing. On its own its average fare. SuzyGreenberg (799), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 26, 2008 draft @ west seattle brewpub - black with no head and thin texture; mild aromas of bitter chocolate; some roasted malts in the flavor, but very bland and thin; the best part of the no doubt stout is that the trub gets used for ice cream (from husky) in their brownie sundaes; and those are damn good!! Aroma – Deep dark malt with chocolate and coffee in the nose. Also got a hint of nutty.
Appearance – Dark black color, clear I am sure. with a thin head.
Flavor – A deep rich flavorful stout, dark chocolate and coffee and nutty flavors. This was a great great beer.
Palate – Sweet and flavorful filled with all sorts of flavors this was a mouth orgasm
Overall –Loved this beer had a great time drinking it and wanted more.
Bradrcr (532), Renton, Washington, USA Jul 28, 2007 On draught at the brewery in Burien. Aroma is roast malt forward with a very light dried dark fruit in the background. Appearance is dark brown with a low retention head. Flavor is simple: roast malt forward followed by some black patent notes. Mouthfeel is medium/full bodied with both strong carb and roast textures. Overall, well made, but a bit too simple to have more than one.
after4ever (1652), Brier, Washington, USA Jun 3, 2007 Draft at the Burien pub. Poours opaque black with a scant off-white head. Very little lace. Vacant nose other than a little bit of burnt bittersweet chocolate. Average attack--medium body, carb, and fairly restrained flavors. It’s a tasty beer, and there’s a fair splash of roastiness in the mid-palate, but nothing exceptionally complex. Other than the roast, there’s a bit of chocolate and that peppery beef jerky goodness. Clingy hop finish of rather indeterminate origin.
