COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This recipe is loosely based on our 1492 Imperialist Red Ale. The hops in this recipe, however, push the beer more in the direction of piney flavor and aroma rather than the big bitterness of the 1492. The result is a richer perceived maltiness in the Pinetop. We also did two "dry-hopped" versions of this beer in cask form, adding Western Red Cedar tips to one keg and Western Hemlock needles to another. The experimenting continues!

Amber colored with a lush top. Full boquet of PNW hops. Wonderfully floral and bursing with hop juice. Easy hopped body wtih a characteristic red ale body with the welcome addition if fresh milled cereal grains. An all-around well built red ale.

On tap at West Seattle location. Pours red-gold with minimal cream head and some cling. Faint aroma, mostly of sugar. Initial sweet taste followed by a long long pine and some citrus linger.

Cask dry-hopped with Western Hemlock needles at Washington Brewer’s Fest. Highlight of the fest for me. Pours cloudy tan/orange with a nice creamy tan head. Huge aroma of rosemary, pine, and funky citrus. Taste adds some caramel. Medium-bodied with a rosemary/pine finish. Really interesting stuff.
