Nice citrus and piney aroma with notes of caramel and pale malt sweetness. Pours golden orange with a decently whispy head and light lace. The flavor is a blast of piney and citrus hops up front followed by a moderate malt sweetness - caramel and pale malts, light residual sugar notes and a medium-big pine bitterness in the finish. Lingering hoppy resins and bitterness. Nice drinker, creamy body. Well done.

Draft at lake city brewpub. Pours a unfiltered hazed orangish caramel gold with a dense yet small off white had that leaves behind some lacing. Mostly orange/citrus hops up front, mellow, with light pine earthiness, touch of jammy sweetness with a darker doughy malt character. Tight carbonation with light chewiness in the feel. Peppery, hints of orange marmalade and wheat dough. Finishes dry with a bit of bittering and the 8% isn’t really noticeable.

Draft at Uber. Pours a crystal clear paler amber with a light sudsy white head. Big fresh grapefruit nose, very inviting. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Mid palate shows toast, caramel, and grapefruit. Crisp finish. Appealing and drinkable.

This was a very nice and highly hoppy and bitter red ale, almost like an imperial red. The dry hopping really comes through in the taste but is not overwhelming.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2009 This was the fresh hopped version. Aroma is lightly citrusy and a little toasty. Has more of a sweet toasty malt flavor than most pales with a grassy, citrus hop finish. Pretty good, but out of all the various pales I’ve had from Elliot Bay it’s the one I liked the least.

Flavor: Big IPA flavor this was a great IPA.
Palate: Dry IPA finish, with a good spicy Mouthfeel.
Overall: Big IPA beer this is a great beer. This was a the Dry hopped version.

This was definitely the best beer they had on tap. Nice hoppy pine aroma, with lots of grapefruit, with some caramel maltiness. Not a strong ale persay in my opinion, but turn kind of weak in the finish. Could be much better.

Gold colored. Looks like the IPA and DHIPA. Buttery flavor with some lactic hops. Not of the strength of some other infamous DIPAs, maybe not as strong but still tasty. The buttery nose and flavor is unwanted, however.

Clear golden-orange with a small off-white head. Light to medium grapefruit with a little bit of caramel and some pine way in the back. Lots of hops in the flavor, more pine then inteh aroma. Medium bodied but the finish is a bit watery.
