Draft at the Burien brewpub. Pours a crystal clear dark brown with bright garnet highlights. Thick, creamy tan head that really sticks around, leaving thick sheets of sedimentary lacing on the way down. Nice light brown rye bread nose; bready in a rye bread sense, not a bready malt sense. No rye sour, just earthy. Nice herbal hop tones in support. Creamy medium body, subdued carb. Plenty of light rye bread flavor leading into a nice peppery herbal hop finish. Well-constructed, well-balanced rye ipa.

Is this the same rye ipa listed at the bar? Pours dark copper with a fluffy head. Dye dusty aroma. Clean body, initially off putting, but i quickly come around. Fire roasted blanched texture to the rye, in a brew that highlights the grain.
