3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 theisti (2441) - Leawood, USA - JUN 9, 2009
Schooner pour at Elliott Bay Burien (~ 10 oz pour). Pour is hazed white golden with an almost greenish tinge to it. One inch white head leaves a thick sheet of lacing. Aroma of spice (orange peel, coriander, grass) soft floral, and round soft Belgian candi sugar (quite sweet, almost honey). Another wave of orange peel citrus appears at the back. Taste is coriander, clove, grassy wheat and the soft sweet Belgian candi sugar. As with the nose, the sweetness takes on a decent sized honey element. Palate is medium, thirst quenching with a lingering spice finish.

Sweet nose. Lots of wheat malt, corriander, and oranges. Pours hazy light yellow with a thin head, little retention, and no lace. Flavors of oranges, corriander, wheat, with light dry earthiness in the finish. Rather sweet to me for the style, but still somewhat quenching and moderately enjoyable.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2010 Tap at the Elliot Bay pub in West Seattle. A lovely orange gold with about a half inch of white head. Has a very yeasty, complex, ligthly lemony aroma. Has a slight herbal and spicy character to the flavor, with a complex, somewhat sour orange and lemon taste. Subtle and tasty.

Tang colored brew with ring of head, but otherwise rather lifeless looking. Clean looking body that is not very wit-looking at all. Mild wheat and coriander nose. Body is upfront with orange-tinged wheat with a pleasant zestiness, piqued by coriander. Easy drinking and subtly melded.
