Watery appearence with light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavors of watered down coffee. Light bodied. Short lived flavors. mjg74 (1764), La Mesa, California, USA Oct 16, 2007 Tap at brewpub. Dark in color with ruby outlines. Fairly weak and grainy flavors. Slightly sweet. Not too good. DuffMan (1915), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 6, 2007 Yikes! What can I say? Usually a stout is a pretty fail-safe endeavour for any brewer. Not so, apparently. This suffers from the same problem I found in all the Ellis Island brews-- too sweet and sticky, very unbalanced. I suppose it could be classified as a sweet stout, but even then it fails to impress. Almost no aroma (or maybe it’s the smokey casino killing whatever aroma there may be), roasted and chocolate malt are lost in the unbalanced sweetness. I left 3/4 of the pint sitting on the bar (and that’s saying something!). BelgianBeerGal (883), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 4, 2007 Draft in pint glass. It’s 1 (ONE) US dollar fpr a pint. That’s 70 euro cents for a draft beer. No it was not a great stout, served at well below cellar temperature in a shady casino, but you get what you pay for: drinkable beer. And it’s better than all the macros bottles available.
