It pours from the tap an amber-copper color with a thin beige head. There was a fruity almost floral, perfumey aroma of malts. The mouthfeel was medium-creamy. The taste was caramel sweet and bitter with a dry finish. I found it to be tasty.

My Bottom Line:
This thinnish Extra Special Bitter has mild leafy hops to perfume its slick caramel malts, but it ultimately disappoints in its shyness and its lack of any outstanding features.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam tops the misty light amber.
-Hops are also citrusy and earthy at times.
-Carbonation is really mild, but then again so is the flavor profile, so there is not much for the taste buds to enjoy themselves with.
-Balanced is achieved, but fails to create excitement.

On tap at the brewpub.

[Tap] Pours a hazy amber color with a faint white head. Aroma was a little hoppy and some earthy notes. Taste was more like an APA to me. Not as hoppy as the aroma suggested. Finish was crisp and clean.

Brickyard ESB–on tap-pours a white head and slightly hazy amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt. Taste is light/medium malt balanced with medium hops-faint citrus.
