3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap last night at Blind Tiger with Erica, Matt, Steph. Also had it on tap there 12.20.2012 with Maggi, Andy, James, Christian. Opaque pale yellow pour into tulip. Sweet and cloying, with sweet and pleasingly zesty yeast profile that made it taste almost like a saison or hefe. Didn’t have much of the medicinal flavor that I kind of dislike about abbeys.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz. bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma is on the mild side, but does show some herbal, green tea, light fruity and light yeasty notes. The flavor was herbal, dry, mildly fruity, earthy with pale malts. An interesting spin on a tripel.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Blind Tiger, NYC tap ($7.50): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is banana, clove, citrus, and tea. The tea did much more to this beer than I though it would, providing a somewhat unique taste. The taste is also quite sweet, as per usual with tripels. Hops are pretty minimal, but provide a little bit extra. Good, but not that great.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Blind Tiger after the Wintersun / Eluveitie show with Andrew and Brendan. Pours a light golden body with tons of carbonation sticking to the inside of my glass - very weird. Aroma is sweet candy, light estery yeast. Mouthfeel is thin, bubbly carbonation with notes of light booze, sweet cloying candy, fruit, light breadiness and yeast. Another reminder of my personal disatisfaction in Belgian tripels.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bottle, shared. Mostly clear, orange-gold color. Little white head, bit of lace. Smooth, lighter carbonation. This is an interesting tripel... Some interesting earthy notes here, along with the light spice that you’d expect. Dry texture. Light bitter taste, some spice. Interesting augmentation

Bottle: The aroma consists of apple, banana, yeast, and faint herbal notes. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small white head that leaves behind some nice webbing. The flavor starts with apple, banana, and yeast. The finish has pepper, cinnamon, herbal notes, and a touch of alcohol. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.
