3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (2569) - Nueva York, New York, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Blind Tiger, NYC tap ($7.50): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is banana, clove, citrus, and tea. The tea did much more to this beer than I though it would, providing a somewhat unique taste. The taste is also quite sweet, as per usual with tripels. Hops are pretty minimal, but provide a little bit extra. Good, but not that great.

From tap at Taphouse Grill as Elysian Apocalypse Nibiru. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and crisp hoppy. Mild fruity, light yeasty and toasted malty. Bitter and mild yeasty fruity finish.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Aml42000 (616) - Washington, USA - JAN 28, 2012
Poured cloudy golden. Appealing aromatics showing esters and some
banana. The Yerba mate is not apparent and this, while tasty is, at the end of the day, an ordinary domestic take on a Belgian Tripel. This turned a bit dull as it warmed up.

Poured at the Publican, on tap. Golden color with three fingers white head. Smell is faint banana and clove. Taste is light and crisp, gum and light citrus. It’s decent, but nothing special.

pours a fizzy, semi-cloudy orange with a very large white foamy head, and good lacing.
smell is of bread yeast, floral, and a touch of citrus.
taste is chalky, yeast, some citrus, and a funky taste that i assume is the yerba mate. ends dry yet smooth.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beardface (1509) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - MAR 7, 2012
Tap at 16 Tons. Yellow/amber pour with a big, bubbly white head. Herbal and floral with Belgian yeast and light citrus, this one really did not meld together well in my opinion.

22oz bottle. Clear amber body, small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, cotton candy, Belgian yeast. Taste is moderately sweet, candi sugar, Belgian yeast, some Pilsner malt. Medium body, some stickiness.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AxlLives (240) - Maryland, USA - MAR 2, 2012
22 oz. bottle - Pours orange-gold, small white head, nice lacing and retention. Very faint nose of spice, barnyard, dough, and fruit. Perhaps when it warms up more will show. Medium palate, unexceptional taste. Plain beer festival brew flavors, little bit of banana and slight clove, pepper on the back end. Ok, not as good as the label art (Charles Burns’ ill illustration).
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 mcberko (4146) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 10, 2012
22 oz. bottle, pours a mostly clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of apples, pears, candied sugar, cotton candy, bubblegum and some tea. Flavour of some odd spices and herbs, with dried apples and pears, sort of tea-like quality I suppose, and yeast. Medium complexity with some odd spices which I assume are from the tea.
