3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from the dumpy Spirits down in Beachwood. Poured a rather opaque chestnut brown body with a few visible floaties here and there all underneath a an average sized light beige foamy head. Aroma is solid with lots of chocolate, Belgian yeast, soft dark raspberries, brown bread, dry earth and some leather. Medium bodied with average carbonation that becomes almost chewy and a lingering chocolate flavor. The raspberry picks up in the flavor along with some burnt toast and bitter bakers dark chocolate along with some harsh green hop cones and coffee grounds. The flavor needs to lose the bitterness and take a lesson from the very nice aroma. This is way better then I was anticipating.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle: pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with ruby hues and a clingy-lacing froth of beige head. Has a lightly sweet dark malty nose with some raspberry and dark chocolate notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and light toasted malty sweetness with some lightly tart fruits and doughy yeast before a drier bittersweet finish. Could use a little more sweetness, but a good concept nonetheless.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smell is interesting, like a stouty framboise. Definitely can smell the berries, dark chocolate note. Taste is similar to smell, tart raspberry with a dark chocolate, slightly spicy chicory stout finish. Sadly, it's a little watery. I wish it were as vivid on the tongue as it smells. A fun beer, but I'm interested in a bigger version of it.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles.
Aroma: strong raspberry and lightly dark-chocolate--the raspberry aroma was strong until the last drop of beer.
Appearance: large, rocky, light-brown, initial head with fully diminishing longevity and good lacing. Black-hued body with lots of bubbles.
Taste: lightly bitter initial taste with moderately bitter/sour finish and long duration.
Palate: light to medium-bodied with dry texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: excellent. Complex. Amazing aroma, interesting palate and taste.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour from bomber. Dark brown pour, thin with a tan head. Belgian spicy nose with some chocolate malt notes. I don't pick up any fruit in the nose. Just a hint of raspberry, balanced really well with the Belgian style stout. I like this better as it warms up a bit.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Nose roasty with nice chicory accents and fainter chocolate, seems very smooth and rounded, raspberries alluded to rather than sledged. Pours cola-to-pitch with a frothy tanned head. Watery body, light roast and faint bitterness (but both meld beautifully and last long into the afterlife), lightly crisp with subtle smoke and ahhh, there are the raspberries! Very pleasant mineral character reminds of a diluted Foreign Stout and plays off the razz quite well, again beautiful synergy. Supple malt with a speck of moo-hoo, er, Yoo-hoo. Natural and very, very mellow. Alcohol deftly threaded in from the bottom. This one’s all about the excellent overall balance, which it has in spades; would love to have this again.

This was alright. Not my favorite, but enjoyable. My favorite was the last of this line of beers.

Thanks to 5000 for sending this bottle my way. The beer pours a very dark brown to black color with a small head. This beer completely changes as it warms up. When it is colder the aroma and flavor are dominated by roasted malt with some chocolate thrown in. However, as the beer approaches 60 or so degrees the fruit really comes through. I get some big raspberry jam notes mixed with a lot of cocoa - completely different then when the beer was first poured. The beer was good cold, but better as it warmed. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
