3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown/black with a creamy darkish tan head. Aroma of chocolate followed by red berry. Med body or better. Sort of creamy. Flavor is chocolate, smooth burnt malt and raspberry. After that there is a yeast/spice thing, but any fruity esters must be drowned out by the strong flavors. It’s very different and pretty tasty. Raspberry isn’t overdone. Finishes nearly dry with a little chalky/ashy thing. Rather tasty and mouthsmacking.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Completely black, large beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma is very roasty coffee grounds, cocoa, berries. The fruit is subtle but present, with a nice coarse roastiness and powdery cocoa coffee. Normally fruit stouts are not my thing, but somehow this one works.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburs Fort Collins I believe. Pours a deep brown appearance with a thin, dark brown head. Dark berry, raspberry, fruity yeasty, a touch spicy, roasty malty, chocolate, light anise aroma. At first, I’m a bit overwhelmed by a charred, anise, s’more flavor but some raspberry does follow. The finish kind of reminds me of a Raspberry Hot Cocoa drink or Raspberry Mocha. A bit thin and a bit odd, but it’s not overall that bad. Honestly, I’ve never been a big fan of Belgian stouts, but I’ll drink it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Elysian Fields, Seattle - 09/11/12.
Mid black with a thin tan head.
Nose is chocolate, roast malts, a little Belgian yeastiness.
Tastes of chocolate, raspeberry is well evident, dark malts, hint of Belgian yeast esters.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a sweet roasty finish.
Decent enough, does what it says on the tin, the 7%+ alcohol was very well hidden.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle: pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with ruby hues and a clingy-lacing froth of beige head. Has a lightly sweet dark malty nose with some raspberry and dark chocolate notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and light toasted malty sweetness with some lightly tart fruits and doughy yeast before a drier bittersweet finish. Could use a little more sweetness, but a good concept nonetheless.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Nearly black, large frothy beige head nice lacing.   Pale roastiness with a slight fruity tinge to it.   Hard to nail down, other than to say it has a fruity sweetness on top of the soft roasted malts.
Smooth on the tongue, moderate roast, slight berries, not as fruity as I thought for a "fruit beer".   However, while it feels fairly dark like an Imperial Porter or Stout, it does have a fruity aspect that most don’t have.
Sweet roasted malts, but also fruity/berryish.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Clean finish.   Seems like a very good fruity Stout.   Best of both worlds, biting roasted malt background and sweet fruity
forefront.   Smooth, roasty, malty, but also has a slight fruitiness to it.   More of a Stout than a Fruit Beer, but regardless its tasty!   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Sweet berry like finish, along with a strong
roastiness.   One of the better Apocalyptic releases from Elysian.   Fruity stout for teh win!
