Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark golden color with a ginormous white head on it. Nose is a little sour, with the unmistakably earthy notes of the brett. Taste is only moderately sour, and decidedly fruity, with an almost brandy-like finish. Not a bad beer.

hazy tangerine, puffy large bubbled white head dies quick. Meaty peach and heavy sawdust nose, reminiscent of rust, celery, and a lumber aisle with sourness interspersed but no part of the profile. Heavy pie crust and alcohol front, tons of effervescent sweetness with light grape sourness emerging mid amidst dough and papery bitterness that continues until the muted, coin metallic finish. Too effervescent, carbonation dominating most aspects and almost no sour through the disappointing end.

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma was funky & sour with yeast, bread and light fruit. Flavor was earthy with bread dough, wild yeast, pale malts and had some sour funkiness.

On tap at brewery. Light golden yellow. Nose is sour, yeasty. Muted sour attack. A bit sweet. Ok but not my thing.

I don’t think this is supposed to be on shelves until Wednesday, oh well, I got it Sunday.
From the label: "Beer #11: MORTIS Sour Persimmon Ale. There’s no escape from Mortis as it enwraps you in the tartness of persimmons and brettanomyces."
I’m quite underwhelmed by this beer. Pours a clouded golden with a bit of surface white foam. The nose carries primarily belgian yeast (run of the mill style), then there’s some funk a little soily grain, some hay and some sweet bread. Not really getting the persimmons here. Taste is sweet, with some grain and clay and hints of peppercorn and chestnuts; the Brett is maybe, maybe a little funky in there, but I feel like I really, really have to search for it. No tartness here....none. Full bodied in my opinion with a sharp, but short lived carbonation and a little more resonance than I’d prefer. This one is probably one of the bigger flops in the series unfortunately.

Bomber. Very slightly hazy gold pour. White fluffy head. Cedar - wood aroma. Slightly dry. Nice flavor. Good beer.

From bottle. Hazy full golden color with lots of head. Aroma is tart funky yeast and sour fruit. Taste is fresh persimmon, light yeast tartness, apple, and grain. Finishes with an apple aftertaste and a light pucker.

Bottle - pours out cloudy golden, medium thick frothy head. Nose of cloves, coriander, yeast, and malt. Very frothy mouthfeel . Taste is of cloves, apricot, plums, and malt. Super sweet and syrupy.
