Draft at Bitter Creek Alehouse in Boise. Dark orange, rich-looking for a "saison." Drinks with a palate-testing blend of interesting character ... a definite spicy, peppery-corriander kick, but blended with an interesting American kick of spicy orange-citric acids, too. I liked it quite a bit. (#4682, 7/7/2012)

Pours an orange color with a white head awesome lacing. Smells of grass, Belgian yeast and fruit. Tastes of grass, Belgian yeast, a sweet fruit flavor I?m assuming from the elderflower and a peppery presence with a slight hop bite. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with amazing carbonation. Overall this is a very flavorful saison and is one of the better beers in the Beers of the Apocalypse series.

Tap @ Fifteenth Ave. Hophouse... Poured hazy, vibrant orange with an, eggy, white-ish head. This was solid. One of the better I thought from the series. Floral, herbal, tea-like, earthy and spicy. Sort of drying, and a hint of yeast funk with loads of esters. Passionfruit, citrus, tropical fruits, you name it. Super quenching. Nice fruity and floral finish.

650 ml bottle. Pours a light amber with medium had that dissipates quickly. But lots of carbonation. Floral and fruity aroma - quite pleasant. Tangy tropical fruit flavor with light notes of Belgian yeast. Nice

From bottle. Deep golden hue, at first skeptical about elderflower, but gave it a sweet fruit aftertaste.

Bottle at BCTC at the campsite. Pours a light hazed amber with a thin to medium sized white head. Soft floral notes, light sweetness. Medium bodied, a touch sweet, malty. Sweet and malty, floral, lingering mild sweetness. Sweet and tasty, yeast on the finish.

Draft at Elysian with Linh. Pours a deep, hazy amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is fresh floral hops and a light sweet fruity malt. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of bubblegum, flowers and fruit.

Tap at 16 Tons. Hazy amber pour with thin off-white head and little lacing. Extremely floral in both taste and smell, with pepper and coriander chugging along in the background. Very dry finish, quite crisp as well. One of my favorites in the series thus far.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Half Time, 10/3/12

Aroma: The nose is rather floral, with some spice, fruity notes, and some yeast and grass as well
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange color with a fizzy foam of off-white head and some drippy lace
Flavor: It tastes spicier then the nose, the floral notes are a touch more subtle, and there’s fruitiness too
Palate: It is medium bodied, going a bit outside of traditional palate terms: it has spice/tingle/yeasty feel
Overall Impression: Half Time was a heck of a store. I’m jealous of those who live near by, I think it has a better selection then my local store (with a similar feel): Buy Rite. Anyway, I enjoyed this beer. This is another really nice and interesting offering from the Elysian "12 Beers of the Apocalypse" Series, of which I have now rated 4 (#1, 2, 3, & 6). Well done here, Elysian.
