Bottle courtesy of Ed, thanks very much! Hazy amber color, white edge head. Aroma is like snorting pure cinnamon, it overwhelms all else. Taste is similar.

22. Pours a clear rubied dark amber with a dense and creamy tan head. Lots of eggy lace. Big sweet spicy nose, lots of nutmeg and cinnamon. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other pie spices on the mid palate. Sweet finish.

Bottle:   Dirty amber, dark, some sediment, moderate sandy head, little lacing.   Fairly simple aroma of spices, mainly a woodsy like cinnamon.   Very spicy on the tongue, but very one sided.   Comes across as this earthy and fresh cut tree bark like cinnamon.   Also appears a bit dry.   This one is overly simple in that there isn’t much depth.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes one dimensional, cinnamon, cinnamon, and more cinnamon.   Very interesting in that the cinnamon is a bit different, but still doesn’t make this one a winner.   Tiz okay, but a little difficult to finish a single 22oz by ones self.

Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Cinnamon, pumpkin, apple, pie crust, and some light hoppy bitterness in the finish. Damn good stuff.

Nice Reddish amber in color. Good flavor and added pumpkin. This was full of spices and finished quite nicely.

Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. The beer pours an orange color with a small white head. The aroma is extremely heavy on the cinnamon with a little bit of nutmeg and some pumpkin thrown in. The flavor also has a ton of cinnamon in it, but there is also a good bit of brown sugar. The pumpkin is nice as well. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Elysian definitely knows how to make pumpkin beers and this one is no exception.

Draft at blind tiger with Andrew, Brendan and Maggi. Pours a deep amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is super cinnamon and apple. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of apple pie, cinnamon, light pumpkin, spice and nutmeg.

Tap @ Fifteenth Ave. Hophouse... Poured copper orange with a thin, off-white head. Nose had straight cinnamon spice. Nice body, mild carbonation. Tasted mostly of cinnamon. One dimensional in that sense. Not horrible, but wish I could get more depth in its other aspects.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy dirty orange with a thin off-white head that disappears by the second sip and leaves very little lace. Very pleasant aroma of cinnamon and pumpkin with notes of vanilla, nutmeg and even a bit of graham cracker. The flavor is very similar to the aroma with the same components and is quite good. Very reminiscent of a pumpkin pie. Well rounded mouthfeel. Medium bodied. One of the better pumpkin ales I’ve had.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods - Bowery, 3/15/13

Aroma: The aroma is an excellent mix of pumpkin and cinnamon, with some other spices too
Appearance: It pours an orange color with a small off-white head and spotty lace
Flavor: Taste-wise, the cinnamon is quite present and works well with the pumpkin and light hops
Palate: The body is medium, it has a good feel, average carbonation, and a spicy finish
Overall Impression: This one is really impressive. It has to be one of the best pumpkin beers I have ever had, and I am a big fan of the style. Excellent stuff. The cinnamon adds a really nice component. I’m excited that I was able to locate a bottle of this one, and I hope they produce it again in the future outside of the Apocalypse series.
