Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 9, 2008 Well, I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t tried it. I don’t know what Jasmine flowers taste like but I will say this sucker taste pretty damn flowery. Plenty of hops & pine flavor to boot. Sort of makes me wonder if that 40IBU is right. Either way this is a solid IPA. Don’t know if it would be a regular drinker but would be perfect on draught for every now and then. chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 8, 2008 Hazy copper color. White head, citrus aroma with a little bit of malt. Decent bitterness. Nice honey and floral sweetness. Interesting, but not my favorite. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Jul 7, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man: Pours a slightly hazy golden with a white film for head. Citrusy aroma. Tangerines and honey with a biscuity malt back. Nice texture; creamy nd tightly carbonated. Semi-sweet flavor. Honey soaked citrus fruits upfront, with a touch of biscuit in the body. Finish is more botanical with a mild but balancing herbal finish with a note of violet. Decent IPA, well integrated. pforei (338), USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle from New Beer Distributors. Dark amber with good head. Nice floral citrus aroma and faint malt. Taste is similar with floral/herbal high pitched notes mingling well with the hops and supported by mild malt. Refreshing. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 1, 2008 Bomber from New Beer distributors. Sat on the shelf for less than a week before drinking. Pours a mostly hazy light orangey copper with a dull carbonation and a nice frothy white head and sick lace. Aroma is a touch weak, but there is some jasmine flowers, hints of vanilla bean, light citrusy american hops, a bit floral hosp as well with a creamy doughy malt backbone- perhaps a bit of doughy yeast as well. Flavor is moree intense with the jasmine and the hops- lightly minty, floral, and lgith citrus hops with a decent crackery pale malt backbone. Herbal earthy almost astringent bitterness. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bomber. Orange color with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of floral and mild pine hops with jasmine. Soft and sweet flavors with restrained hops which allow the jasmine to be noticed. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Reminds me a bit *too* much of tea, but a pleasant experience. Bartzilla (441), San Diego, California, USA Jun 25, 2008 Thanks Naven. Never been a huge fan of Jasmine, but I think that’s more for the realms of my green teas than with this beer because this worked out surprisingly well. Not overwhelming at all and quite a refreshing surprise. Pretty good. I’d drink it again for sure. Naven (864), Poway, California, USA Jun 25, 2008 22 oz bottle. Shared with Bartzilla. Nice deep rich amber color. Nose is flowers and light hops. Flavor is just as described - some hoppiness with a predominant flavor of Jasmine. This is one of those beers that you are afraid will be overdone, but to the contrary, the jasmine is very light and blends well with the subtle hops. And when I say subtle hops, I mean, this was pushing the boundaries of being a pale ale. Not overly hoppy at all, and the mouthfeel was light and somewhat watery. This is actually a good thing, because if I think this beer was any hoppier, it wouldn’t mesh well with the Jasmine. I am perplexed at the rather low ratings. All I can think is that this is not well received by beer geeks because it’s neither big, nor sweet, nor alcoholic. It’s just quality brewing. At any rate, this is a nice, refreshing beer. Perfect for a summer afternoon.
