AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Apr 8, 2008 Tap at Elysian Fields Oct-8-2007. Clear amber with little head. Good jasmine flower perfumy smell. Medium bodied. Nice taste is dominated by the floral jasmine with a strong pale malt base. Has a nicely bitter finish. If you enjoy jasmine tea give this brew a try. killjoy966 (215), Washington, USA Mar 30, 2008 Probably my least favorite out of the five beer sampler. I assume the flowery smell and taste was from the jasmine, but it was so subtle as to be barely recognizable. All other signature IPA flavor profiles were toned down as well, leaving essentially a watery shadow of what it could have been. riversideAK (2650), Shoreline, Washington, USA Mar 27, 2008 Gold orange color with a thin lasting head. Aroma of light mats with some floral jasmine. Lightly malts with a subtle breadiness accompanied by a lightly floral hoppy finish. The jasmine leaves a pleasant clean floral herbal flavor in the mouth. I like the drinkability on this one, although light, it is extremely pleasant. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Mar 24, 2008 Appearance: Pours a hazy, orangeish body with a small, white head.
Smell: Pale malts with a touch of toffee coupled with a full floral scent of jasmine.
Taste: Palt malts with a medium toffee-like sweetness. Floral jasmine flavor emerges and ushers in a medium bitterness to balance. Splash of light herbal tea. Hint of flower stems. Finishes dry.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: You know, that’s not half bad. The jasmine puts an exciting, new twist on what would just be another IPA. Shag (1922), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Mar 23, 2008 This one poured an orange color. The aroma is jasmine, perfume, and some light citrus. The flavor contained some jasmine and oranges. The beer was alright but fairly bland and watery for an IPA. On to the next beer. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 22, 2008 From bomber I brought back from Elysian. Has a nice toffee caramel sweetness with a modest aroma of jasmine flowers. Light flowery hoppiness, too. Perhaps a bit papery-stale but it is at least an 8-month old bottle. Brilliant orange-amber clear, with pillowy off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonatoin and a soft feeling on the palate. Starts with mild bitterness, a light caramel sweetness and dusty grain. Jasmine taste is there, but more of the herbal bitterness you’d expect from an aromatic blossom. Bitterness comes in stronger in the finish while maintaining a bit of fruity character and jasmine essence. Without the interesting jasmine, the IPA itself is fair, but not a big one. BCMike22 (79), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 22, 2008 Nose was very floral, poured into snifter glass. Overpowering jasmine scent, but smooth and pleasant at the same time. Thinner than many IPA’s. shp555 (1680), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 22, 2008 Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a white head. Aroma is honey, jasmine, and some earthy citrus hops. Flavor is honey, jasmine, grain, and a bitter earthy finish.
