alagnak (300), Littleton, Colorado, USA Sep 17, 2009 Tap @ Falling Rck. Nose is pretty light on the promised jasmine, heavy caramel malt and a touch of acidic bitterness. Taste is similar, the caramel malt upfront, accent of Jasmine in transition and a decent citric hop profile to finish. Nothing extraordinary, but a sold beer. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Sep 13, 2009 Bottle from Santa. Thanks! Pours a thick cheddar yellow with a nice white head and intricate lacing. Aroma is sweet hops, strawberry, and slight candied sugar. Flavor is thin floral with an offensively heavy jasmine note. Thin and water-like on the tongue. More like liquid flowers than a beer; guess jasmine ain’t my thing. jbye4334 (652), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 12, 2009 (bottle). Dark gold color with light cloudiness. Medium white head. Light jasmine and hop aromas. Sweet grassy flavor. Avg duration Slightly astringent finish. Thin texture. Moderate carbonation. Good lacing. DalzAle (476), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA Sep 11, 2009 Tap. Clear orange/yellow pour, plenty of carbonation and some standard hops aroma with some noticeable jasmine. Flavor was rich mellow hops and some vanilla? Finish was herbal, creamy and lasting. Another solid beer. hayduke (1620), Eureka, California, USA Sep 7, 2009 This 22 oz bottle has a new label and now 6.3% ABV. It poured an attractive dark gold with that was almost clear but had just a faint haze. It raised a very nice foamy white head that settled rapidly and left good lacing rings. Nose is quite aromatic with aromas of citrus and floral hops, and of course the expected jasmine. The mouthfeel is slick and creamy and stops just short of being oily. The flavor greets you first with a blast of the jasmine, but then settles in to a good balance of malts and hops with the jasmine playing second fiddle to the hop bitterness that continues all the way into the long bitter finish. I consumed this at 45 degrees and it got even better as it slowly warmed so this is one you probably don’t want to drink too cold. Very interesting and somewhat different IPA, and quite good overall. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Sep 4, 2009 Not everything I had hoped it would be as my first ipa in Seattle. Thought it was good in every way, nut never better than that. Aggy360 (115), Anchorage/ Vista,CA, Alaska, USA Aug 30, 2009 Updated: Aug 31, 2009Pours clear yellow with a small white head that fades to a tight ring. Aroma of pilsner malt and some light citrus hops. Taste is balanced with malts upfront and a blend of bitter hops and some noticable flowers. Very unique and could be pleasing on the right day. Medium-light mouthfeel and a crisp finish. A very interesting flower addition to an IPA. ladnewton (200), London, Greater London, England Aug 30, 2009 Draught, on 28th July 2009 at Rattle & Hum, NYC. Gold, slightly hazy with creamy white head that collapses in a few minutes. Very pleasant rounded flavours and quite aromatic. Hops kick in after an initial creamy maltiness. Drinkers of UK real ale trying this for the first time will think Betty Stogs Bitter on its best form.
