Always inventive Elysian pushes the envelope with this IPA flavored with jasmine flowers. Avatar starts with a fresh, floral jasmine aroma that proceeds to creamy malt undertones.

22 oz bomber bough in the Capitol Market , Salem. Nice slightly hazy dark amber/burnt orange coloured beer small off white head. Aroma is pretty weak on malts for an IPA..they are there but floral tones are sensed under them. THis is not a traditional NW or even American IPA to taste..the characteristics are very "English" and malts are quite balanced..but the overiding taste of jasmine is certainlly present and adds to the expierience. I found this tolerable on the palte..a litle sweet maybe. Drinkable certainlly ..odd, even weird yes..but I found this enjoyable..in fact it reminded me a lt of Samuel Smiths India Ale with flowers thrown in..I know this sight does not have an "English IPA" category, but i think this would fit right in their along with the aforementioned Sam Smith beer.

foggy orange/gold body, beautiful fresh citrus nose, super strong malts that overpower the hops to an excessive degree, but is still delicious... dizank

On tap at Brouwers in Seattle.

Pours a fairly light orange amber with a decent head. There’s a bit of jasmine on the nose along with faint citrus and pine; on the tongue we find a kernel of jasmine flavor buried inside what sadly comes too close to an IPA-light. This is a hollow watered-down shell of a PacNW (not to be confused with a good British IPA which is also much less bitter, but is a very different beast). We don’t get a good hop blast here, in either the floral or c-hop veins. Instead, we get a plenty-drinkable beer with no glaring flaws, but one that is closer to a pale ale than a true IPA. I’ll revisit it with that in mind next time, but for now the restrained hop profile is hurting it in my ratings.

Draught Very clear orange-copper beeer with a small rim. Lots of caramel, and unmistakably jasmine - absolutely, sahib. Sweet, way sweeter than an IPA is expected to smell - but not bad, IMO. Sweetish, spicey-flowery jasmine, jasmine tea; surprising absence of bitter/hoppiness. Rather light, smooth, a bit light for this style. Surprising jasmine-dominated taste, just not anywhere like usual IPA’s. Original, worth trying.

Big flowery herbal hoppiness dominates the aroma. Sweet rosewater and honey notes as well. Unique, this is a really delicious IPA, very dry in the finish, with just a bit of bitterness.

On tap at Tangletown. Dark copper with light head. Sweet flowery aroma. Very unique taste...Flowery with subtle hops and a good balance. Interesting to say the least. Would make a great summer beer.

Bottle, shared by beerguy101 at PP Strong Ale Fest. Clear buttery gold. A TON of jasmine in the aroma - a very floral aroma. Floral herby hop flavors, lots of jasmine, and some sweet caramel and toasty malt underneath. Mildly bitter. Interesting.

22 oz. bottle. Very clear light copper with a quickly fading medium white head. Flowery, fruity nose with a slight tinge of sourness but not in an infected kind of way. Flavor has notes of sweet pale malt, a little caramel and an odd flowery taste which I assume is jasmine. Some hop bitterness in the finish along with a touch of bath soap. Medium body with a smooth texture and subtle carbonation. Overall, a neat idea but it just didn’t do it for me.

Thanks to beerguy101 for sharing (according to chile maybe it is johnc ?) Poured a slightly hazed dark yellow. Aroma is strong of jasmine. Reminds me of green tea. Flavor of orange and lemon. Light mlat. Large jasmine sinish. Long semi-dry finish with a mild bitterness.

Sampled at the Pizza Port 9th Strong Ale Festival with some other ratebeer folks, I believe thanks are in order to beerguy101 (not sure). Anyway, this was very interesting, of course Jasmine standing out from the usual IPA characteristics. Unique and well done.
