pivo (2535), Germany Jan 18, 2009 Soap-like aroma, gold color. Sweet Pez-like flavor, light spicy end. Dissappointing hopping on this: it is an IPA after all. Good balance for what they were shooting for overall, but I really get turned off by perfumy beers. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA Jan 17, 2009 I didn’t think this would be very good. Turns out, it was. Floral characteristics of Jasmine, but not in any offensive way. So unique and well made that I brought a bottle home with me. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 16, 2009 Draft at Capone’s: Poured a golden color with a thin head. The aroma was flowers and hops. The flavor was grass, hops, jasmine, and a way too powerful flowery taste. Overall, I wasn’t much of a fan of this one. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany Jan 12, 2009 Seattle -Nov. 2008: Light amber color, thin head on top. Low carbonation - very light nose. Intense bitter - who wonder- Jasmine nose. Herbal grassy taste. I gotta say- I’m not fond of Jasmine ! SpringsLicker (2041), Tennessee, USA Jan 11, 2009 Pours clear gold with a thin white head.
Weak hop and Jasmine aroma.
The Jasmine in this kind of puts me off, I’m undecided about it.
This has a melony characteristic to it.
sundevil27 (45), , New Jersey, USA Jan 11, 2009 On draft at Blind Tiger. Golden color. Hints of fruit and floral. Hops are very mild in which I think creates a nice, somewhat different, balanced beer. I really enjoyed this. MartinT (5030), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 11, 2009 Updated: Jan 18, 2009My Bottom Line:
Explicit jasmine flowers scent cushy sweet cereals, before leafy hop bitterness and even more jasmine seal this intense IPA-like experiment.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam tops the hazy amber.
-The body is pillowy and creamy.
-Although the body is hefty for the brew’s size, this remains a drinkable ale.
-There is simply way too much emphasis on the jasmine for my liking. If I wanted tea, I’d have tea.
Bottle. pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Dec 21, 2008 Bottle from Lacey. Pours a mostly clear light copper/orangy color with a small lacing white head. Aroma is sweet floral notes with some citrus hops. Taste is complex, the jasmine goes rather well with the hops, floral notes that go into some nice hops all with a sweet malty background, smooth and very drinkable. Very unique, I give and A for effort.
