| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Enjoyed this one on draught at Elaysian Fields, an Elysian Brewing outlet. They are not brewing there at the moment, but I saw they are setting up a brewing operation. This beer is a very unique and flavorful IPA, that really benefits from the use of jasmine. As stated in other reviews, you can really smell the jasmine in this beer and it is wonderful. This beer pours to a light, hazy, orange color, with a thick, creamy white head, and a good carbonation. Aromas of jasmine, citrus, and honey sweetness flood the nose. The jamine is unmistakable, and makes for a very pleasing nose on a beer. The palate is firm, with good pale and light caramel malt paired with the flavor of herbal taste of jasmine. This beer finishes with more good malt and jasmine flavor, then end with some flavors of jasmine, and some citrus hop bitterness that ties together the malty and herbal character of this beer very nicely. I was really impressed with this one, as I am with all the beers from Elysian. Very unique, aromatic, and flavorful beer. Well worth a try if you visit any of Elysian’s locations. lukeris (5), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Pale, touch cloudy. Phenomenal nose, I could smell this beer for hours! Wonderful balance between the hops and the floral component, with a whif of pale malt goodness to tie it all together. The jasmine aroma translated nicely onto the palate. A very successful beer that I expected to dislike. tobizag (34), Federal Way, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 14, 2008 the nose, as in the description, is quite full with floral and hop aromas. pours slightly copper with a full white head. flavor is defined by the jasmine, but is classic IPA nonetheless...plenty of hops and bitterness, with interesting malts hidden throughout. the flavor is long lasting, and palate is full.
i highly recommend this brew. corby112 (706), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Pours a hazy dark golden color with light orange and dark ripe banana yellow hues when held to light source. 1.5 finger frothy white head that slowly fades into a lasting cap that leaves chuny rings of soapy lacing throughout my pint glass.
Floral/citrus hop aroma with hints of lavender, honey, grapefruit, citrus peel honey and caramel malt backbone. The floral hop and flower petal notes provide a nice balance to the west coast style citrus hop presence that normally dominates this kind of DIPA.
Creamy medium body with a nice bitter hop presence that is mellowed out by silky maltiness and nice floral presence. Slight alcohol presence with a sweet and slightly dry finish.
This beer has a very nice west coast style citrus hop blast that is very well balanced by a honeysuckle flower petal presence and slight malt backbone. Also, there is a nice crisp light fruit presence of apple and pear as well as a nice alcohol astringency which is quite pleasant without any burn.
Elysian Avatar Jasmine is very comlex and unique and probably the best beer I’ve had yet that contains flowers as an ingredient. I highly recommend it to anyone who is into west coast style IPAs and is looking for something different. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Slimming dull orangey, golden brown color. Small, compact, off-white foam dawns the top. Whispy, spotty lacing is sporatically spewed about the glass.
Incredibly wonderful floral nose with a honeydew, melon sweetness, and mild, dulled lemon soaked with a crisp Jasmine herbal roundedness. Candyish sweet and floral with a tender crispness. Very nice nose!
Taste is about what you’d expect given the nose. Nice! A brilliant dance of flowers, sweet candy melon and lemon, and even dome hops. Great complexity to the palate as it feathers from a sweet floral accent to a firm standing growth of more flowery stuff with pinches of lemon peel zest and some dryish, leafy, herbal hops. The Jasmine stays long after the finish with an amazing herbal dryness coating the cheeks while just a bit of the sweet, melony, lemony stuff trys to round it off. And gets the job done just enough, as it does add some balance.
Feel is slightly shy of medium with a feathered powdery texture of herbal fluff and hops. Tends to add some action as it gets past the middle and into the finish where the dryness peaks and gets bolder and slightly fuller.
A wonderful concoction of a brew. The Jasmine is a wonderful addition. Although I wouldn’t quite label this an IPA. Still, I like it alot. Reminds me a bit of Rogue Yellow Snow and 3F Gumballhead with a more herbal grab. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Huge floral herbal jasmine tea-like aroma with plenty of tannins but a certain hop sharpness. Hazy amber-copper coloured body is topped by a fine bubbled off white head that recedes to a lasting cover with sudsy lacing. Strong tannins and moderate bitterness up front with a very floral character and toasty malt sweetness. Bitterness lingers. Medium body has a beautiful soft texture with gentle carbonation that caresses the tongue. Bottle sampled with Beershine and Oakes. Cletus (5052), Connecticut, USA

Smells of earth, dry malt, hints of jasmine, some citrus, breaddy. Tastes of oranges, dry malt, some bitterness, jasmine, pepper, some spice. Mouthfeel is full. Finish yields a nice bitterness. Nicely balanced.
