UPDATED: SEP 23, 2009 Pours golden straw color with small white head that diminishes. Aroma is malty, a bit floral and earthy. Taste is floral/jasmine, honey, straw, light bread. Jasmine comes through in time. Not nearly hoppy enough for an IPA, which should be hops dominated (not floral). Soapy jasmine keeps coming, this just needs more bittering hops to offset the overly jasmine flavor.

This is good for what it wants to be. Not particularly hoppy -- more of an American pale methinks. Strong jasmine flavor, though, which is unusual and interesting.

Poured from the tap. Strong jasmine aroma and taste make it a little gimmicky, but it works well. Subtle caramel and hops that make for a slightly resinous, dry finish.

Iím a huge fan of jasmine tea (Jasmine Dragon Tears being my favourite luxury blend) and of IPAs so this was an easy buy for me. Aroma of floral hops and jasmine. Gorgeous hazy orange pour into a spigleau IPA glass. Lots of foam head with a ton of lacing left. I was worried that the jasmine would be overpowering as some other reviewers noted but that isnít the case at all. An exceptional balance is achieved here with tons of floral and citrus notes from the hops, and a noticeable but not overstated flavour of jasmine after the hop flavours fade. Delicious and very well made!

On tap at St. Augustine's. Clear straw golden yellow. Aroma of flowers, candied sugar, citrus. Fuck, someone ordered brusselsprouts around me. Dominates smell. Taste is bittersweet flowers.

Deep amber color. Big jasmine nose with moderate hoppiness. Malty backbone. Tons of jasmine. Decent.

Very flowery. The Jasmine blends well with the hops to leave a sweet nectery after taste. The intial flavor is not dissimalar to a flower petal. So, itís like sucking a sweet flower.

Todayís live review is this. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice golden bronzed amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Chunks of what appears to be jasmine flowers seem to be suspended within the body. Thereís barely any lacing at all. The smell, well holy jasmine Batman. I once had a jasmine infused beer back when I was stationed in New England by Rock Art and that one has no comparison to this. This has got to be the most jasmine infused smelling beer Iíve ever had. Luckily, after a bit of warming there is some light sweet malt helping to balance it a bit. The taste was sweet and floral (hmmm...go figure). Its fairly balanced between the jasmine and the malts, but this is one that doesnít seem to show much hoppiness to it. The aftertaste has a nice lingering florally soothingness to it that leads to a semi-dry finish. On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium with a fairly nice refreshing sessionable quality about it. The carbonation is somewhat smooth. Overall, what a really nice relaxing beer and thatís not the alcohol speaking. Though the jasmine could probably be toned back, Iíd have probably have this again as a fairly good night cap, oh crap there goes the rest of my day.

Pushing the envelope is right with this particular beer. Pour was light a and orangey with some bits in, small white head. Overpowering in floral, and so little hops coming through that it is rather like drinking a carbonated tea or bottle of perfume. Completely underwhelmed with this selection, and will not finish it.
