Belgian-style Tripel. A twist on the French expression "Bete Noire", Bete Blanche is extremely drinkable, blonde and somewhat treacherous.

From a bottle. Cloudy light orange. Slightly biscuity tropical fruit, pink peppercorns, and cardamom. A bit flat in flavor and carbonation; I was hoping for more complexity and a sprightlier feel. Certainly not bad.

Backlog bottle thanks to so many good ratebeerians. The look is clear, golden in color. The smell is sweet, fruits, and spiced. The taste is spice, banana, fruits, and alcohol.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage Center, Albany, NY. Typical cloudy gold with a thin ring of white head without much retention. Nose is dried fruit, candy sugar and Belgian yeast. Fruit notes. Taste is similar to the nose, dried peaches, banana notes. Apricot hints. Body is grainy with a moderate malt profile. Sugary sweetness and covers any alcohol flavor. Dry texture. Overall good example of the style.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Yoav. Pours yellow to orange with a nice beige head, aroma of vanilla, cookies, flavor of cookies, cake, darl bread, medium bodied

Bottle [12oz] . Pours a slightly hazy gold with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Some lacing. Odd aroma of tomato paste, herbs, yeast, pear and white pepper -- or something like that. Flavour is only slightly more straightforward, with yeast, herbs, a bit of tomato paste, white pepper and wheat. Medium bodied. An odd one indeed, not for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At a tasting, thanks Yoav, a touch hazy light orange colour, aroma of popcorn, peanuts and hay, sweet candy jammy flavour and a coarse bitterness, much too sweet and unbalanced. One dimensional and uninteresting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Yoav. Hazy golden. Yeasty and slightly spicy aroma with a bit of fruity esters. Spicy and yeasty flavor, somewhat sweet, with a bit of fruitiness and a slightly bitter finish. Medium-bodied.

This beer doesn't particularly compare to an abbey tripel as it purports, but it's a good ale that I keep stocked in my fridge as kind of a flavorful session beer.

Has some nice hops. Pours clear orange with good head and lacing. Foamy head. Has citrus and some malt in the aroma. Almost more like a session IPA than a tripel. Finishes a little sour, a little sweet but more light sourness than anything. Average carbonation. Bottle.
