Reviewed: 19 January 2013... Glassware: Mad Elf tulip... Occasion: defeated I Spy Halloween on the Wii with the fam--good times.... Appearance: soft hazy orange body that holds a thin white head; slow, dissipating effervescence; sporadic lacing... Aroma: punchy fruit--grapefruit? citric for certain; definite pale ale hops and a sense of malts--balanced... Palate: medium-bodied warm finish; mildly affecting in the teeth aftertaste lingers ambivalently... Taste: mildly abrasive hopsthat crunch with a citric/dough combo...a honey sweetness finishes welll... Overall: like the beer’s name, his glass comes up big and hearty; by the end, buzz-worthy; a dry finish suggests complexity and a fitting after-dinner drink...

A nice and different beer. Aroma was earthy and malty. Pour was a nice medium gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was very unique. A delicious mix of sweet and grainy malt with an earthy hop finish. Very easy to drink and perfectly balanced. Nice carbonation.

Tap at Paradiso dupont. Pours low haze golden with yeast particulate in suspension on tap. Weaker white foam. Weak lacing. Nose is dusty, cheesy, stale candies. Taste is boozy, sharp candies, metallic, herbal, very medicinal. Yuck.

Lifeless dead appearance, like a fly caught in amber. Muddy light tan color. Is there actually any grain here? Is it carbonated? Very little aroma at all apart from just a whiff of Brach’s caramels. Then you taste it with a wallop of bitter orange jalapeno marmalade. Very small bubbles for the carbonation as the appearance suggests, but just way too unbalanced. Obviously skimped way too much on the malt and ends up being hops soup. With a touch of heat to it. Sadly disappointing.
