I’m a fan of sours but this one did nothing for me. It’s a peachy brown pour with lots of lacing. Aromas of sugars, orange, a bit of grapefruit and faint smell of yeast. You can really taste the alcohol on this one, overpowering its citrus hops. Bitter finish.

Pours a light golden, clear color with lots of thick head that sticks nicely to the glass. Aroma is moderate, mostly malt and a bit of hop. Taste is balanced sweet and malt, not heavy at all. Moderate lingering bitterness. Overall a reasonable, somewhat interesting, very well balanced winter ale.

I did not like the underlying tones of this beer, but it did have great hop taste. Bigger fan of the BiFrost.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2010 On tap at Elysian Fields for SBW. Aged in cabernet barrels, I believe. Pours a hazy golden with cream head. Fantastic aroma with citrus and grapes that makes me think I’m about to dive into a nice cab. Wine is the dominating flavor that tastes very bitter, leaving my mouth incredibly dry with a finish that lingers much longer than I could have wanted.

On tap at Fields for Seattle Beer Week, this is a version of the bifröst soured with Brett yeast. It pours a cloudy pale orange color with a muted sour tart aroma. The flavor is slightly woody and bitter, almost a red wine like quality to the nose and palate.
