Dark in color, with a thin head. The aroma was that of a chemistry beaker. Tons of different aromas with spice and heat and fruit like. Loved the flavor at first it is subtle then it burns. Not super hot but it has some heat. Lots of chocolate and dark malt enhanced with the spices this was a great beer.

On tap at Alibi’s 300. Pours a murky amber brown with virtually no head. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, cumin, and curry powder. Flavour of the above spices with some chilli burn which crescendos. Doesn’t really taste of much else. Interesting flavours with a pleasant after burn. Dry.

On tap at The Alibi Room for their 300th Beer Menu, pours an opaque dark amber orange with a minimal beige head. Aroma of chili peppers and loads of spices - cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. Flavour is dominated by the chili peppers and spices, with more subdued cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, cumin, curry powder and tobasco sauce. Quite intense, but not quite palate destroying. A pleasant amount of spice. Good for the novelty.

On tap at The Blue Tusk. Very interesting pumpkin beer, well blended with the spicy chile, some chocolate in the finish. Great drinkability if you can take the spice. Lacey and orange bodied. Surprisngly little aroma.

The aroma is sweet pumpkiin, cinnamon. The appearance is a murky amber red, off white head. The flavor is sweet, pumpkin, cinnamon, and some hot pepper after a few seconds. Medium in body. The finish is sweet pumpkin, cinnamon, hot peppers. Pepper quickly takes over and dominates the finish. Very different and cool, but the pepper is a bit much.

2011 Elysian GPBF #5. Clear dark amber color/ ivory head. Big chili pepper, dry spice, caramel aromas. Medium body. Nice caramel maltiness, with cinnamon, nutmeg, chili pepper spicy flavors, mild to medium pepper heat to finish--good.

Draft, Falling Rock, Denver. Hazy dark rusty burnt orange, thin head. Aroma of cumin, and greasy French fries. Taste is just odd. Big tones of cumin and some sort of spicy pepper. Kinda sweet but spicy. Again, a little much on the cumin. I can’t get any other flavors past this. Not pleasant.

Brown-amber body, slight ring of head. Lovely cayenne and cumin accented woody aroma. Unique for sure. Nice warming spicy cayenne pepper character dominates, but crystal malts contribute a somewhat mitigating underlying smoothness to it.

Tap @ Elysian’s Great Pumpkin Beer Fest... Poured deep red with an off-white head. Loads of peppers, chilies and roast, and noticeable cumin. Nice body to really support the complexity of the spicing here. Some sweetness from the pumpkin and boy did the pepper heat really shine through after a few sips.
