Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is all coffee and oats. This feels heavy. Is real bitter...tastes like dark chocolate on steroids. Very strong.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Darr brown/black pours like ink with a 2 finger thick tan head.
Aroma: Citrus, resinous, chocolate, smoky/roasted malts, liquorice, treacle note.
Taste: Medium bitter and sweetness with low sourness and a slight saltiness.
Palate: Medium thickness with a grainy texture, light/medium body, average carbonation, with a bitter sweet citrus, chocolate, maly, liquorice finish. The bitterness grows together with the sourness.
Comments: Very good and glass lace.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours an opaque black with a large frothy and persistent brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and cocoa with low amounts of citrus hop aroma. Taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and creamy latte. Mouthfeel feel is a big full bodied creamy latte like beer. That slick creaminess makes this bigger body and abv complex and balanced.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Draught at brewpub) dark brown pour that’s nearly black. Nose of rich dark chocolate, light west coast hops, viscous in appearance. Taste of dark chocolate, minor astringent flavors from the hops, oak, medium thick body, bitter herbal linger, nearly a black IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Gooden in Taipei. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, roasted malts, bit of hops. Dark black with foamy tan head. Taste is surprisingly hoppy - could almost be a black IPA. Chinook hops make it taste a bit plasticky/empty, but they're balanced by more piney flavors from the other types. Otherwise quite oatmeal stout-y, just a bit bigger (not that big though compared to other "flagship" stouts from American breweries). Not bad.

Bomber to taster (shared by Thuggins). Looks good; a fairly opaque dark brownish black with foamy beige head. Smells of dark malt and roast with a bit of bitterness from the hops. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Pours pitch black beer with a small, lacing, tanhead. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and dark breaddy notes. Sweet flavor that ends more dry and quite bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. An excellent impy.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with reddish hue, thin mist of brown head. Lots of chocolate and dark fruits in the nose. Low carbonation, very creamy mouthfeel, finishes clean. Very malty, booze and tons of dark fruit, nearly grape juice-like, molasses as well. This is stellar, thinking it would be better aged to mellow it out.
