Commercial Description:
A smooth and sturdy stout, made with 10% rolled oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt. The name is referential to the founders of Thebes, warriors who sprang from the earth when the teeth of a slain dragon were sown by Cadmus. Bittered with Chinook; finished with Cascade and Columbus hops.

A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet matly with notes of roasted malt and light notes of coffee. The flavor is sweet malty and very roasted combined with notes of coffee, leading to a dry roasted, bitter, and burnt end.

GABF 06. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roasty, and some bitter hops. Taste is bitter hops and roasty up front, then sweet and smooth in the middle. The body is full and the texture of this beer was velvety.

22 oz bottle via Liquid Solutions. Pours a midnight pitch black with a large tan head. Aroma has roasted notes of licorice, coffee, and chocolate. .It is bold and complex with many layers, with primarily flavors of roasted coffee, licorice, and chocolate (and a lot more underneath). Finish and aftertaste are dry and roasted and lingering. The citrus/piney hops balance it all out quite nicely.
